Aldi is Aldi but when it is not. Location was remarkably clean, fruits and vegetables were fresh! Huge selection of breads and other staples. Plentiful and helpful staff. Easy to spend money here with the large variety of items available.
There is no public restrooms, bags do cost, buy the plastic and reuse - they are stronger and only a few more pennies. You will get your quarter back from your cart without a struggle. They were short on boxes to give / use. Larger parking lot. Accessible parking near the store and white enough for those using a scooter or chair.
Hours are solid, after Covid hours, but pre-holiday season. Season aisle is kept tidy and with some good deals and cute trinkets.
If this Aldi's was near me, I would go here more often to shop, sadly it is not near. This experience proves my overall image of Aldi's.
The entrance / exist is easy to miss. Illinois weather might cause the incline to be slippery in the bad weather, be careful, but would believe they would keep it clear based on the upkeep of the green areas in the...
Read moreJudging by other Aldi location stores near me, I like this one the best. Maybe because it tends to be a bit less crowded. Staff is very efficient, obviously working very hard yet still friendly. The produce at Aldi's in the US is greatly improved compared to few years ago, but it is not really up to the standard of a big US supermarket, better the Target store in Champaign, but not nearly the variety of most supermarkets. If you have not been to Aldi for a long time give it another try. The canned goods and dry goods and are not brand name, but some of it is very good, and most of it is very cheap. The same with frozen foods, almost no brand names, but often good prices. Unfortunately much convenience frozen food (like frozen italian dishes frozen lunch dishes etc. ) are of medium quality at best. They also have a surprising number of items not typical found at reasonable prices in supermarkets, prosciutto, german knockwurst, dried mangos, European style cookies and...
Read moreReview written 9/29/2024. It’s very disappointing how they removed most regular check out lanes and now only have self check out and one remaining regular one. Part of the Aldi experience used to be their speedy check out process. It’s sad that they don’t want to hire enough staff and that they now make customers slowly ring up items at self check out without being able to use the belt and scan quickly in regular checkout. :(
You need to bring a quarter for the carts like a typical Aldi. And you need to bring your own bags or buy them at the store.
Overall, Aldi is much better priced than just about any grocery store you can find. This location seems to be out of some items a lot though. But still, I highly recommend Aldi; it has some delicious food and better prices than most stores. I’d recommend the Savoy Aldi location over...
