Chico's Produce — Local services in Valle Township

I pass by this business regularly for years now and occasionally have stopped to grab a few things. The staff has always been very nice and helpful. Today though, I met “Lisa”.

I won’t be giving them my business anymore. Their sign out front stated, jumbo shrimp $12.99lb. I grab a couple other items and head to the counter. I ask “Lisa” for a pound of the jumbo shrimp. She opens the freezer and gives me a bag of jumbo shrimp. I tell her that I only need one pound and ask what the weight of that bag is. She says 2.4lbs!! I tell her again, I only need one pound. I get the deep sigh and eye roll because now she has to actually do her job and weigh out only one pound. The exaggerated extra time taken and the additional sighs was laughable. I pay cash and she has the audacity to ask if I want my 47 cents change! I then have to ask for my receipt which gets me another eye roll....

Service and cleanliness of this place is impeccable. So you know you aren't going to get flowers or produce that is going to have a bug problem from here. Very friendly family and staff!! Can't hardly find a dying bloom on any flower. The only small thing that is worth mentioning; is that in the hanging baskets, there wasn't care instructions stakes in them with their names. Just price tags. I've bought several annuals that die off quickly because I didn't put them in shady spots, or watered a bit too much. So, now I know to look before I buy, so I can make sure I have the proper area to place. Overall, best stand I've seen in the souranding...

I personally like shopping here, but after today’s incident…if it’s the toothless sweaty Blond lady that’s working, and if no one else can check me out, then I guess I don’t get my produce

Then, my lemons weren’t put in my bag, a couple of hours realized it, called She says

“You left them here”

No, lady you didn’t put them in my bag!

I have always been nice to this person, but I’m done being nice to her.
