Went to Valley View Casino for the all you could eat buffet. The food was good, but the lobster which was featured as Special for the buffet was very small. The claim the lobster is Maine Lobster. It might be but all the lobster served was bigger then 3 inches long and about 3/4 wide. In other words, there was not much meat on the lobsters. The crab legs were snow crab. Both were good, but more of a snack size then a main dish item. The vegetables served was awesome and the shrimp was good as well. The buffet provided a variety of foods from Mexican, Italian, Chinese and Japanese (Sushi), American (Prime Rib and Roast Beef to Chicken and Fish). Lots of fresh vegetables for salads as well as baked, sauted and grilled veggies. Also, the buffet offered wide variety of desserts, ice cream and fresh fruit. The waiters were excellent. Cleaning up dirty empty plates, providing plenty of napkins and whipes for your hands. They continually provided drinks (cold and hot) and asked if they could get you anything else like condiments (hot butter, hot sauce). The downside to the buffet is that you have to walk thru the entire casino in order to get in line for the buffet. Walking thru the non-smoking area was ok, but the smoking side of the casino was horrible especially if you have asthma. Even though the casino seemed to have good ventilation to pull the smoke out, the smoke smell was just too much on my lungs. I recommend for those with asthma to bring their inhaler and a mask. The second worst thing about the buffet was standing in line for 1.5 hours just to eat. We got in line to the buffet around 6:30pm and we did not get inside the buffet area until 8pm.The reason for the long wait was to due to the casino giving the regular customers (Gamblers) the short line for the buffet. If you have a member card, you were put in the VIP buffet line. You generally were seated within 15-30 minutes. For someone with asthma, standing in line around a bunch a people smoking for 1.5 hours was torture! If I were to ever go back, I would definitely bring a mask and my inhaler. I would recommend this to anyone who has asthma or any breathing issues. It's too bad the buffet could not be set up on another floor or the casino couldn't build a glass wall separating the smoking area of the casino from the buffet line area. Even my friends and my husband were bothered by the smoke. The parking garage was easy to access and park. The casino has free parking attached to the casino and hotel. Leaving the casino and parking garage was easy as well. I would have given the casino a higher rating if it was not for the long wait in the buffet line and for keeping people waiting to eat in the same room as the smoking side of the casino. Even though the dining area of the buffet is somewhat separated for the smoking side of the casino, you still have to be tortured by the smoke on the smoking casino side before you eat! The Casino really needs to look at building a glass wall between the buffet line area and the smoking side of the casino. It would make the entire experience and atmosphere much better. Light music in the dining area would also inprove the dining area. Only thing that helped clear my lungs tonight while eating dinner was lots of water and a strong cup of coffee after my meal!

Here with sort of an update review on San Diego’s counties oldest, loosest and best casino. Been a loyal club card member for almost 20 years there has seen lots of changes, upgrades, new faces and original team members, have had good and bad times even discouraged to try other casinos over the years but overall always return back to Valley View it’s still a great place to go. First I’d like start with the many places to eat several new restaurants, their world famous all you eat lobster buffet has gotten many improvements to mention the new system as far as wait times to get in the buffet, the service is fantastic and as always the food is great and delicious! I just have to mention several servers Lucy, Linda , JJ , Sal J , Millet, Sally, Cynthia , Cristian, Dan, Aiden, Kathlene and Marlyn at Snax & Stix snack and noodle bar are fantastic, very efficient they all really take very good care you to make sure your dinning is enjoyable and memorable. Patties and Pints is another fantastic restaurant, new outstanding menu, service and hospitality you have to experience. The hotel has always been a favorite..always seen like home so comfy, clean and secure it’s a 5-star stay…Oh and the complimentary breakfast at The Cafe is so delicious, service is excellent as well. If you like some refreshments they have five bars now, with some great floor beverage servers, very efficient, polite and friendly..one floor beverage server Marissa is all that was mentioned above…shes wonderful. The main stage bar is where all the weekly and monthly drawings are held. Black and Blue steakhouse rated number one steakhouse in San Diego county service is excellent and the menu mouth watering. Valley View does have a very large non-smoking section for the non smokers. As far as your favorite playing experiences over 2000 slots, table games and there are lots winners which at the beginning of my review as being the loosest casino in San Diego county with great rewards. New members get 200.00 in casino perks, includes two free maine lobster buffets, slot free play , Bluetooth speaker, and coupons for the various restaurants throughout the casino. The atmosphere is nice, team members show appreciation for being there and give you good service…So if you are looking for a great time, great food, music, winnings playing your favorite games and a comfortable stay. Well another great night at the loosest casino in San Diego county March 21 2025 always friendly and polite staff they go out their way to your feel welcomed. Also not to mention another winning night. My ultimate suggestion would be Valley View Casino & Resort I would highly recommend Enjoy!!

Recent I have visited Valley View for gambling 3 times over 2 months. The 1st visit I won a jackpot/handpay. The 2nd time I was able to turn $355 of MorePlay (freeplay) into $700 cash. My last visit I turned $50 of MorePlay into $400 cash. This was a shock to me fore sure As for the property, I like that I can get my own soda from the soda fountain machine. The service at the dessert Cafe was decent but if your order hot food expect a 45 min wait, at least that was the case on Saturday early afternoon Labor Day weekend. I had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious. I attached a menu from another restaurant but didn't eat there because they don't open until 4pm. 6/29/22 UPDATE - I visited Valley View on Sunday evening. I figured I would get some food and play a bit. Well this is the WORST CASINO for ordering food. By 9 pm on Sundays all but one food of their food venues are closed! Next at approximately 9:05 p.m. I pulled #97 but they were only on #16. I came across people who pulled their number at 8 p.m. but their number wasn't finally called until 10:50 p.m.!!! Yes, a nearly 3 hour wait JUST TO ORDER FOOD. Then there is another 45 minute or longer wait to get your food. This is the only food option after 9 p.m. on Sunday so you either wait, get in your car and drive to Harrah's 5 minutes away, or drive down the hill into civilization to find a typical fast food restaurant. The service here is horrible when it comes ro eating. I've had similar experiences on other days of the week, 10:30 a.m., 3:00 p.m., etc. So I don't feel like this was an isolated incident!!! Due to the poor service I am done playing at and visiting this casino. I will cash in on my residual comps and keep it moving.

Poor registration procedures. Arrived at hotel about 230 pm and was told we can not check in till 3 pm. That was fine ( in the past we often checked in at 230 ) but the issue I have was the tone used by the manager. I heard him say (and saw his facial expression ) like he was talking down to my wife or scolding her. I let it go and did not say anything. At 258 pm my wife asked if we were about ready. Once again he points to a wall and says it’s still 2 minutes till 3 ! You have to wait until 3 ! This really ruined the mood for the evening. The lobster buffet was pretty good. They made some improvements but still a 2 hour wait. Once inside you get 1 small lobster tail ( I asked if I could get 2. But was told no ) but you can re order at a later point. I looked at the slide show they show on a tv on the wall of their food and it shows the plate being served with 3 small lobster tails. They do require a 7.00 tip per person be paid up, front prior to eating. (Used to be 5.00). Rest of the evening went ok ( a bit over crowded ) but ok. The next morning, I got up early and went down stairs for a cup of coffee (no in room coffee). I walked outside the casino and walked around a parking area enjoying the cool morning with my coffee. I was then approached by security and was told I’m not allowed to walk around in a parking lot as I look suspicious. A 62 year old man with advanced cancer and a cup of coffee trying to walk a few minutes to get the blood flowing and I look suspicious. (The parking lot was almost empty) what was I going to take? The white line off the parking spot ? I proceeded to the upper level of parking where my car was parked to make a phone call from the car. As I was standing outside of my car, here comes security. I opened the door of my $150,000 Mercedes AMG (if I’m going to steal a car this is the one to take). But as I got in, security drove next to me but did not stop. Made a few trips around me then after a few minutes they drove off. It just amazes me how you are not allowed to take a walk in the morning here. Although, throughout the night I was able to see several people in the parking lot drinking and sleeping in there cars. One is still sleeping in their pick up truck as I write this review. I can see them popping their head up. Anyways, this was not really a good trip this time. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice place. Most employees were pretty nice but a handful were not. Guess it’s hard to get good...
