Shortly after my wife and I moved to San Diego from Tokyo via Washington DC approximately 3-years ago, we were introduced to The Valley View Casino Hotel & Casino. As an aside, over the years we've had the opportunity to visit a number of casinos from the American Indian casinos in Connecticut to the Vegas-style casinos in New Jersey to the exotic casinos in Macau to the iconic casinos in Las Vegas (strip and downtown venues). One of the important aspects of visiting each and every casino is finding an on-site restaurant featuring exotic culinary delights to basic American fare. Since our move to San Diego, we discovered the Valley View Casino. Out disappointment with the regulations prohibiting "real" roulette play was off-set by what we discovered on Cafe's menu inside the casino. At the risk of initiating a stampede, we have been consistently impressed with the absolute yummy breakfast and lunch offerings of the Cafe. Of particular note, for us, the baker and his/her team at the Cafe are to be commended for consistently offering up some absolutely delicious baked goods...
Read moreThe food was very good. Mom and I split a CLUB Sandwich that was perfect (we had them keep the avocado—yuck). We were surprised when the server brought us three blueberry muffins and a bowl of soft whipped butter— on the house! The muffins were heated and the butter melted easily for a perfect treat.
The Cafe was crowded and clearly a regular favorite for many casino members. We stood in line for a good 15 minutes before getting our name on the guest wait list. About 5 minutes later I got a text that our table was ready. They pulled out a chair to easily slide in mom’s wheelchair.

The sausage links had no flavor, and the bacon although well cooked wasn't crisp. Pancakes were pretty good. Our eggs were cooked the way we ordered it, but didn't taste like they were cooked in butter. They tasted oily too me. Hashbrowns were not crispy, and were under seasoned.
