I have been driving through Verona island all my life and always love seeing this little shop. On my way to Acadia this year my dog became very sick and one morning suddenly couldn't walk. The ER vet did not even know what was wrong. I decided to take her to Maine anyway even though I wasn't sure she would make it. My daughter asked me to stop at the Rock shop and all of the staff were so concerned about our puppy. They all really wanted to help. I bought a healing Crystal from The Rock shop and tied it around her neck and the next morning she was walking again! It has been a couple of months and I still won't take the crystal off of her. Thank you! I love this little shop!

YES! Finally stopped in after wondering about this place for most of the last 30 years. It turns out this is actually a real shop (who knew?) and the proprietor is an extremely knowledgeable and passionate rock collector. They have quite a few ornamental rocks for sale at very reasonable prices (under $5) and some amazing pieces for hundreds of dollars that still appear reasonably priced. They also sell tasteful jewelry, but the greatest thing about the Unique Rock Shop is the "crack a geode!" experience. For about ten dollars (depending on the size of the geode) you can crack a geode and see what's inside it. We happened to find a great one! It was great, thanks to Steve.

Was sold a forgery. Fake trilobite fossil. After cleaning gently I discovered the dirt on the specimen was intentionally put there to cover up where the piece was glued together. Everything else in the store was priced laughably high. Guess the only reason this one was a decent price was because it was Fake. This is a tourist trap. Of the 6 rock shops I went to in maine this one is hands down the worst I've seen.

The most beautiful rock shop- it has an absolutely superb selection of crystals, geodes, stones, etc. I got my first amethyst here!! The prices are better than fair for such gorgeous stones with tons of variety in cuts and sizes.

We saw it by the side of the road on our way home and made the split second decision to pull over and give it a try. We were exhausted but I have ZERO regrets- it's 100% worth a stop no matter how tired you are. The owner is so sweet- it was two minutes to closing time and he wanted to get his staff home on time, but he was cracking jokes and let me have a couple minutes to look around and quickly grab some treasures to purchase.

Love this place, love the owner, and LOVE THE GEMS! You have to stop by if you can...
