This is a great concert venue! Top notch! It is extremely rare to find a place like this in a rural town anywhere, but here it is, out in the corn fields of western Ohio!
The sound system is more than adequate for the room and is capable of producing excellent quality audio for shows, including impressive low end from the subwoofers.
The stage is deep and wide and provides plenty of room for performers to go wild. I have seen 2 or 3 bands' worth of players on stage at the same time with additional people from the crowd with no spacial issues whatsoever. There is a beautiful display screen at the back of the stage for band logos and other graphics, as well as screens at eye level around the entire front end of the floor.
The stage lighting is as good as you can hope for on a venue of this size, and is very well arranged so that the lighting illuminates the performers well on probably 90% of the stage, the exceptions being far stage left and right. The lighting also contributes to the show with many effects, from an array of cans that can display patterns, to a bar of lights across the stage to backlight the artists, to a mirror ball that is perfectly placed to distribute a sea of reflections on the stage and crowd, to lasers shooting colorful patterns across the whole hall, with truss lighting to encourage crowd participation, and great pyrotechnics for a venue of this size.
Every year I come back here I do see improvements being made. By far the area that could most benefit from improvement is the food service counter. It might help to add a register or two to get people through the line much faster. The food I have purchased here is definitely good, and maybe expanded food offerings might be welcomed by the hungry crowd and provide additional income.
The restrooms seem adequate, in terms of throughput, and there is a smoking area accessible from inside the arena for those who need this accommodation. There is also an interesting collection of guitars displayed in the bar area.
The staff is made up of very friendly people. I have yet to meet one member who is rude or even just not a good fit for serving the public. Great people here!
Their leader, Steve Barhorst, is a top notch operator who is doing all he can to make this venue truly a place where your musical dreams come true. I have been privy to a few things that tell me Steve is a person of excellent character, with a heart for people. A superstar.
I am so glad to have found this place and attend several music festivals here over the years. Worth the drive all the way from Georgia! Y'all...
Read moreGreat Concert Venue! The sound is great no matter where you are in the place. We chose to purchase the meet and greet package. Pretty well organized. No complaints.
No problems with long lines anywhere. Even the bathroom line for women was relatively short. The drink prices were fair. $2 for a bottle of water, $5 for a can of Sex on the Beach and another grape flavored alcoholic beverage (sorry, can't remember the name) and several choices of beer. I can't remember every food item they sell, but I know they sell Noble Roman's pizza, bags of chips and pretzels and I think those Sun Chip things, and plastic trays of Nachos They also sell very small bags of popcorn that are horrible for $2. I would advise staying away from the popcorn (haha).
There is a smoking area outside, accessible during the concert. Thank you for that.
Any workers encountered were very friendly. Thank you for that as well.
I highly recommended and will return...
Read moreQueensryche show, my first time there. Wondered about the facility, but layout and sound of the spectator area were actually really good. Long lines for drinks, though (need another drink station. Plenty of room in the foyer areas for one or two). Seemed short-staffed overall. Drinks: $5 for a 12 oz beer or $5 for a shot of Jesse James bourbon (with or without coke or sprite) is reasonable, but $5 for a bottle of Dasani water is excessive. Even arenas and ballparks don't charge that much. Need another bathroom (first concert I've been to on my 50 years where there was a line for the men's room but none for the women's, though this was mostly due to the demographic). This place would have been chaos with a sold out crowd. I applaud the owner for taking a chance with bringing these shows to this facility. Despite the minor things above, I'm a fan of the genre they're focusing on, and won't hesitate to visit again and...
