Things you need to know.
I WAS a returning customer to Glory this shopping trip.
The first time we went, the sales assistant (young girl) was amazing and helpful. She also presented as a real person… not someone just throwing dresses over $1,000 at us.
We had 2 sales associates this time. One was really sweet (younger girl), one was not.
I bought a pretty expensive dress here last year. My daughter loved it. This time, the entire experience felt rushed, like we didn’t matter, and they only wanted money out of me. The dress my daughter wanted was $895. I would’ve gladly paid cash for it right there. However, the comments about how my daughter’s bust was making it hard to find her a dress made her and I both never want to step foot in here again.
There are TONS of dresses in this store for size 0-6. Once you get up to a size 8, not so much. My daughter is healthy, has boobs, and has to size up because of this. Again, once you get to a size 8, your options are limited. I read one review that the reviewer said she had a good experience, but her plus sized friends did not. I saw that today and totally believe that.
The older woman that helped us seemed almost irritated that she was helping us. My daughter said, “I felt like she had better things to do”. When you’re prom dress shopping, you have preferences and specifics you want in a dress. She didn’t listen to anything my daughter said.
The staff seem to cater to those who are tall, thin, and appear to have money.
Well… my daughter is short. She is normal sized (with a “large bust”), and guess what… I had money to spend, but I took my money elsewhere today.
Again, we bought a dress at glory last year. A nice Sherri Hill dress. To which, Sherri Hill’s Instagram account shared a photo of my daughter. This year, I spent my money at a store that catered to my daughter and made her feel special while she picked her prom dress.

Read moreHoly butts did I enjoy the dress I purchased and the worker that assisted me through the whole process, but holy cow was the manager/owner rude throughout the whole process. I had a better experience than my so called “plus sized” friends that went with me but I believe that was strictly because i could fit into a smaller size. I will restate that the girl who assisted me was extremely nice and helpful. However, the manager (desk lady) was very insensitive. She continuously made comments towards my friends that seriously impacted the way they viewed the dresses they tried on and the experience as a whole. She made a comment that one of my friends shouldn’t try on a dress because it wouldn’t fit her(even though it was her size.) She also continuously made comments that we “should have come with our moms” because “they would have kept us in our price range.” This was extremely insensitive as she doesn’t know our backgrounds and doesn’t know how that could affect who she is saying it to. She also continuously removed dresses from my rack that I wanted to try on as they were out of my price range, even though I told her I could go more expensive than $500 if i fell in love with it. Even after she had a bad experience, my friend still wanted to tip the girl that had helped her out, and was essentially being discouraged from it as they “pay their workers enough, not like a restaurant.” This was overall an experience that was made better by the workers and the dresses, however we drove almost three hours to try out a new store, and this was the experience. Glory prom needs to do better on customer service, especially towards “plus sized” girls to ensure that they don’t make an already stressful process even more difficult. -P.S. we are walking in to give you money, you might want to be nice to...
Read moretake a seat, grab a snack. this one is going to be a long one. okay first, i loved the girls there. they were so sweet and made me feel welcome. they helped me feel comfortable in my own body. they were very understanding about my budget. my girl listened to my color choices and did well.
second, the owner was completely audacious. she walked into my dressing room when i wasn't fully clothed. she did not make me feel comfortable in my body. she judged my price range and was very inconsiderate. i was having a hard time because i am "plus sized." they had barley any good dresses in my size. when i was trying on one i asked my sister to zip it up because i was comfortable with her. the lady rudely walked in and said she wasn't allowed to. i was stressed and felt like i was going to cry. she then proceeded to walk up to my friends and tell them out loud that i was about to cry. there were other people around which made me feel really embarrassed.
my friends got a dress, but i didn't due to the lack of choices for my size.
dear owner/manager of glory. the next time someone walks into your store to give you money be nicer about it. karma is really bad at kicking you in...
