I put off the visit with an orthodontist for my 3 children for as long as I could. Always felt that if it was an absolute medical necessity that dental insurance would cover more of the total cost but given that most dental plans put a LIFETIME max on what they will pay out for orthodontic procedures, leaving LARGE portions of the cost up to parents to pay just spoke volumes to me.
Yes the staff and the office space is beautiful, modern, elegant, and state of the art. The staff and doctors are highly skilled in the art of SALESMANSHIP which is evident when you look at the beautiful, modern, elegant and state of the art office space. When you look at facilities and offices where your insurance covers the majority of the treatment cost you can see the difference. Out of pocket payments that are not covered by insurance brought to life the beautiful, modern, elegant and state of the art office space that you walk into.
I’m guilty of being duped into contributing close to $10k out of my family’s pocket towards this office and being held hostage for 18-24 months at a time (times 3 kids). And let’s not forget the additional expenses for special toothbrushes, replacement toothbrush heads and water pic flossing devices. And last but not least there’s mention of needing additional spacers/retainers long after treatment when my children reach adulthood! Too bad that LIFETIME max has already been reached from day 1 of treatment. By that time, insurance considers any adult orthodontic treatment as COSMETIC and not medically necessary and then the cost of your adult treatment comes straight out of your pocket…..again!!!
So I give a 1 star review to the entire practice of orthodontic treatment, because unfortunately I don’t have the option to give anything less than 1 star. Think long and hard before going down this path, shop around, read the fine print, get more than one opinion, ask about the lifetime treatment and costs associated, look around these offices and ask yourself where the capital came from to open and efficiently maintain the operation of such a beautiful, modern, elegant and state of...
Read moreMy son has been seeing Dr. Frels and Janssen for about a year and a half. We love them! Their office is welcoming and beautiful. The staff is courteous and friendly. I most appreciate the way they are taking their time and doing my son’s treatment in stages that are appropriate for his growth and development! (I had braces as a child and it was so different! My ortho rushed the process and seemed to be in it only for the $ and outcome of the VERY lengthy was not great.) HOWEVER….. Dr. Frels and Janssen are very practical in their approach with my little man. They are tacking time to correct major things and monitor growth and development making decisions as time goes on. They explain everything to him and to us. 10/10 recommend...
Read moreI absolutely adore everyone who works at Frels Orthodontics. I went in for an Invisalign consultation. They took such detailed x-rays and let me know what steps I needed to take to get started (had to get my wisdom teeth removed and they referred me to a great oral surgeon), and have made everything so easy and seamless thus far. I'm almost to the end of my treatment, and Dr. Frels is always so particular about her work when I'm in her chair. I never worry that something is being overlooked or left undone, which is great when you're spending so much for such a life altering process! Couldn't recommend them more. I'm honestly going to miss my office visits when I finish up my...
