Dollar Fresh Market — Local services in Vinton

The Dollar Fresh is just ok. Don't get me wrong it's nice to have a grocery store to compete with Fareway. I especially like that they are open on Sundays & they do have some nice deli foods to choose from. That being said what I don't like is the self serve check outs. I really didn't think I would become a cashier for them at this point. But there I am weighing my produce, 'trying to use coupons' let alone if something is marked on sale. Oh & for heaven's sake trying to open the bags is an effort I don't need. It's a bag, I should be able to get it open. And, what's with Dollar Fresh just recommending people wear face masks? Grow a backbone & make it a requirement. It's not about the health of those not wearing them, it's about trying to protect everybody. I'm going to give Dollar Fresh some time to adjust then likely will revisit the review in the future. Watch out Dollar Fresh because with Kwik Star opening you have more than Fareway to worry about.. Seriously though it's good to have an alternative. I look forward to more realistic milk prices...

Not really sure what happened to the original pharmacist that were here… Roxanne and Chris they were always so kind and sweet made sure we knew everything about the prescription that we were picking up took the time to ask. But these new youngsters running the show are rude and insensitive. I’ve picked up my last prescription from there due to the young blonde/pinkish hair. Who was incredibly rude.She asked what I was there for. I told her I was there for a pick up for my daughter, she walked over grab the meds put it in it’s bag, stapled in basically tossed it on the counter said sign this and walked away with a snobby attitude. I was completely baffled. I will be changing to the local one...

Wish I had written this sooner. Really meant to. On the night of the Derecho, we could not get gas anywhere. We drove up to Vinton and stopped at this Dollar Fresh, at nearly closing time. The workers there (I think one was the manager) were very accommodating to our large group and told us to "take our time" and that they would "not close before" we were finished. Nice people. Have shopped there several times since and will continue to do so, even though we are not local to Vinton. Recommend...
