I give 5 stars to Larry Ulrich with Forest River! I give 1 star to Unlimited RV and to Prime Time. Here's why...
Unlimited RV sold us a brand new Prime Time Avenger last year. The one we picked up to two days after we bought it was not the one they sold us. We have had nothing but problems with the one they sent us home with. I had to ask for the warranty paperwork from Unlimited RV. A clerk at Unlimited RV sent the wrong VIN to the department of revenue creating a whole new set of issues that we had to deal with. The camper they gave us had a warped outside shower door, molding at the entry door that was not fixed to the wall and was hanging off of the aluminum door frame, and the grey water tank sensor did not work properly. We have camped in it 3 times. On our third camping trip last week, the electrical outlet came completely out of the wall when I removed my phone charger from it. Also, we discovered that you cannot lock the camper from the inside. The deadbolt does not line up with the slot on the door frame.
It took 3 phone calls to reach the service department at Unlimited RV to get an appointment to fix the latest issues (our warranty was not expired when I made my calls). When the serviceman finally called me back he said our warranty was expired and the earliest appointment for service was 3 months away. He insinuated that there was a possibility that after we brought it in for repair, that it might have to sit on their lot for another 4 months (because that's how long other campers were already sitting there ahead of ours) before they could fix the hanging outlet and the deadbolt issue. In other words, we were potentially looking at a 7-month wait time before we could use a 'new' camper that is in safe working condition.
As soon as we got home from our trip, I called Forest River. Thankfully, Larry Ulrich, Prime Time Retail Advisor, came to our rescue. He immediately gave us a list of authorized dealers that can service our camper and assured us that the repairs needed are covered under the warranty. Thanks to Larry and a helpful staff at another dealer, the camper is going in for repair in two weeks.
I wish that the folks that build these campers, sell these campers, handle the paperwork on these campers, and service these campers were as honest, skilled, knowledgeable, and trustworthy in doing their job as I have found Larry...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe recently had the opportunity to use the services of Prime Time Service Center. I had been corresponding with Jason Treadway since last fall. I was able to send him photos of the damage to our unit and he promptly sent us a repair estimate for the damage. We made and appointment for us to bring the unit to their facility this spring. Jason said he would contact me about 2 months prior to the appointment.
Sure enough, 2 months out, Jason called and after some discussion we were able to move the repair appointment up a few weeks.
In April, we dropped the trailer off on a Monday morning and planned on spending the week in the area while the work was being done with the anticipation the repairs would be completed by Friday of that week.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Rich Yoder who got us settled in with Lisa Cook who completed the necessary paperwork. Soon after we met Jason, and also Lisa's father. We can't say enough how pleasurable it was dealing with these four individuals. We spent a fair amount of time visiting with them.
I called Lisa Thursday morning to check on the status of the repair process and she was just getting ready to call us to advise they had completed the repairs late Wednesday and it was ready to go.
We stopped by on Thursday to inspect the repairs and complete the paperwork. We were also introduced to the gentleman who did the sublet fiberglass work. My career of 37 years was in the insurance claims business, so I know a little bit about these repairs. The fiberglass and paint work was flawless.
Friday morning we picked the unit up and again visited with our new found friends. Phone calls were returned, e-mails were responded to and answered. Lisa was great in getting all the paperwork completed and just being the face of Prime Time. We enjoyed Rich and his knowledge of the brand. He was kind enough to ask and install a safety chain holder on the unit for us. It felt as though we had know all these folks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBuy Beware. I have the lengthiest complaint but honestly, whatās the point of sharing it. It wonāt get me anywhere with this lemon of an RV.
The short storyā¦. We were totally SOLD at an RV show in Michigan. We bought the dreamiest fifth wheelā¦.and, we couldnāt wait.
During deliveryā¦. We were appalled with the workmanship and issues we found, and no, I donāt think we were being overly nit-picky. Not to mention, lied to about the actual design of the cabinet doors.
Warranty items still just sitting waiting for approvals or repairs, who knows when those will be completed, if at all (our dealer has low confidence that they will be repaired)ā¦. Thereās a laundry list of them. And, now, every time we spend time in this fifth wheel, we find more and more poorly built components and insane missteps on the build process.
Never againā¦. and, we share this story with anyone who walks by and says āwow, beautiful fifth wheelā.
Primetime Crusader 275RDD - itās pretty, from a distance⦠a LONG distance.
Our favorite flaw was the heating unit: Installed to where the entire unit would catch fire (no Iām not exaggerating)ā¦. Or, that every door and drawer is hung crooked (even the glass inserts are crooked, itās like a fun house in here)ā¦. Or, that some windows donāt open or closeā¦. Or, that the door doesnāt stay open with even a gentle breezeā¦. Or, the sinks ALL leakedā¦. Or, the batteries installed improperly⦠Or, (the one that just happened) the nails just laying in our air conditioning ventsā¦. I could go on and on. And, no, we havenāt towed it a bunch to have ānormal things wiggle looseā. Sadly, it has been a bit of an arm wrestle because, you know, RVās have āpersonalityā. šš
Learn from us: donāt buy one.
