Westwood Apartments — Local services in Wake Village

I've lived here over a year. First year was amazing! Just started my 2nd lease. I'm definitely regretting it. One issue is the parking. Even if you live and pay rent here you're not guaranteed a parking spot. Now every other week the management are raising rent or TRYING to charge us for Landlords insurance. Which I refuse to pay. It's sad that I pay almost $800 for a ONE BEDROOM. My sink and dishwasher leaks which causes the bedroom floor to get soaked. Mold underneath the kitchen sink. Hole in my ceiling in living room. The bathroom ceiling is absolutely horrible and looks like it's going to fall in. The front door doesn't close all the way. Definitely about to leave this place! I have more than enough evidence to fight whatever they try to throw at me. #PREPARED They have NEVER sprayed for bugs in the apartment. (I have cameras) The days there "Supposed" to show they never did. I've had to purchase but products and spray myself. I've also had to purchase filters that they DONT change out. Live in your car is my advice if this is your only option. I live in fear here because you never know who is going to be out in the parking lot. I arrive from work late at times and when you have to park clear across the parking lot it's VERY risky for anyone in this world we live in now. I had a good experience overall with this complex. I had one bad run in with a neighbor, but that’s just the way it goes anytime you live near other people. The complex itself was affordable and they remodeled the units pretty well shortly after I moved there in 2017 and put in new appliances. I lived there for 3 years and moved in January of 2020. It was always quiet. They’re very strict on the no noise policy and overall I didn’t really interact with my neighbors much but there didn’t seem to be any drama or fighting that I saw. No one driving through the complex blaring music late at night.. and the large convenience store is right across the street along with the cash saver and a dollar general so it’s in a convenient location. Also, after I moved out they sent a positive report to the Experian credit company showing 3 years with no missed payments and that was a nice boost to my credit score. I really wish the apartment I live at now in the Dallas area was as pleasant...

I did not enjoy living at this complex. At the time it was all I could afford. The apartments are literally falling apart, the foundation is shifting and the doors do not close entirely. There were bugs falling from an access door in my kitchen. Poor insulation caused my AC to run nonstop. The maintenance is done by people who appear to have no prior experience as it takes several attempts to repair anything and if they do the apartment is left in a mess for you to clean up. It takes many phone calls to get any appliance replaced, even when not working properly. I have lived in both a studio and a townhouse and had the worst neighbors both times. It seems as though any non working, alcoholic piece of trash can get approved here. Break ins were common and of course the complex is not responsible for stolen or damaged property.
