I never thought after 22 years of service that SREC would result in being determined to almost make our real estate transaction crash by turning off our electric KNOWING AND HAVING ADVANCED NOTICE we had already moved out of state with complete details on how to get in touch with us. After having a call from our realtor that the electric was off, we arranged a final payment that resulted in one day of service too where someone decided to turn service off again. they then decided that we owed more than bargained for. and only on a SATURDAY did they have an on call person re establish service with the promise of service re-RE established on the following Monday. I actually thought President Chris Reese could move this company forward but performance was lacking to help us. Beware of their business practices and pay strict attention to billing. Do NOT Let some pennies on a dividend kick back deceive you. Glad to leave Highland Lakes FOREVER. PS Lets see if we get our 2022 dividend check...
Read moreUPDATED 01/2025: Still the absolute worst company in the county. I sit updating this review in a house with no power, for the umpteenth time this year, while staring at an outage map that has said “predicted” with no crew assigned for close to an hour. This company is in serious need of an infrastructure update, or of being sold to a bigger company can do so. The amount of time it takes for outages to be repaired is completely abysmal, and the fact that the power goes out multiple times per quarter when the bigger power companies are able to keep their power on for their customers is despicable.
Absolute worst electric company in Sussex County. Power goes out if you look at the power line wrong, and then it takes much longer than the JCP&L customers in the next neighborhood over to come back on. They’re over priced, their customer service sucks, their website is slow, their outage map never even loads. If you’re moving here make sure to move somewhere their...
Read moreOur power was cut during a heat wave. When we called, the initial receptionist was very pleasant and communicated well. I was transferred to another person (did not give me her name) who was very rude and condescending. She was not providing me with details on how to get the power back on, just told me I'd have to wait until the next day to hear back from them (even though we currently have an extreme heat warning). Luckily once a supervisor was involved the power was turned back on quickly. But still was not told the reason our power was cut in the first place so no clue how to prevent this in the future. Honestly, if it was not for the second person being very rude and the lack of communication from her, this could've been a much...
