First and foremost, Connie (the store owner) is amazing at what she does! Not only at altering the dress (she's also the seamstress) to suit your needs but also being a calm and reassuring voice when you're in the mist of wedding planning craziness.
I got married on January 13, 2018 and I started my dress shopping in August 2017, which I thought was enough time...until I went to my first bridal shop and the lady at the door asked me when the wedding was and started panicking about how late I was and that we might not be able to get a dress in time. It was honestly not a fun experience and even though I fell in love with a dress there I wanted to try another shop to be sure. That very day my party (my mom, future MIL and MOH) and I went to Ashley's and Connie welcomed us and let us browse. As I was trying on my first dress, she asked me when the wedding us and I slightly panicked because of what the lady at the other store said, but when I told Connie she smiled and said it wasn't a problem at all. She immediately put us all at ease.
After a few tries, I found the dress I loved (Allure 9304) but what I didn't love as much was how much of my back was exposed. I am self conscious about my back due to a surgery scar and some acne but she told me should could raise the back for me. So I was sold!
Connie is truly an artist. I couldn't believe what she was able to do, and what she was willing to do. There were many times I thought the dress looked great but she still took the time to tweak things so that it laid better on me. Everything was finished on time and I couldn't have been happier to have worn that dress!
(I've attached photos to show the back as best as I could but I was wearing a veil up until the father-daughter dance so hopefully you can see it well enough -...
Read moreDO NOT trust this business on your special day. Had a very negative experience with this business while renting a suit for a wedding. Rented a jacket, vest, pants, shirt, tie, and shoes; none of which were the correct size despite measurements. Fittings were incorrect for all groomsmen to the point where the photographer had to stage each photo to avoid bad angles (i.e. having bridesmaids stand in front of suit jackets that couldn't button). As expected, this created a lot of additional stress for the bride and groom and limited the functionality and comfortability for everyone involved.
Business owner was unable to make changes to the order as he had only informed us that they were ready for pickup Wednesday morning for a Friday wedding after ignoring calls, emails, etc. Pricing is predatory; was charged nearly $300 for a rental and was unaware of the cost until the day before the wedding. Prices are not actively advertised anywhere, or if they are they are difficult to find. Owner tried to make light of the situation by saying things like "you'll be taking these close off anyway" or "these need to fit multiple types of bodies", nothing of use to remedy the situation or make me feel better about renting from him. I don't know if I've ever felt so ripped off in my life...
Edit to respond to owner: you and I know that offer was not on the table as you said they would not arrive until noon on Friday when we had early pictures. While I may have been the only member of the party to complain in person, we all shared the same thoughts. We could’ve started a campfire and pitched a tent with some of the shirts we were given. The defensive, unapologetic response tells you everything you need to know about this...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would! I payed $2800 for a dress that took over 5 mths to come in. Asked to have sleeves added to my dress, there of course was an extra $350 charge. No sleeves! They did refund the $350 for not adding sleeves in the 5 mths that the dress took to “come in” and as a matter of fact….. I didn’t get an option of what I wanted my sleeves to look like or even an option of what they had to offer. I feel they never had the intention of doing anything to this dress! The dress was sized 2 times the size it should have been. I asked John if they could do alterations ( which is what was said when I was purchasing the dress), John tells me “We don’t have time, I’m sure you can find a local seamstress” I took my dress to a local seamstress whom thought I bought my dress from a thrift store or right off the rack because the dress was hugggge! The seamstress was furious for me… saying “ I would have never left with this dress, someone clearly does not know how to measure,”$700 dollars later my dress is being altered and Ashley’s Bridal clearly does not care about their customers, it’s all about getting the money! Clearly if you look at the rest of the reviews, it seems to be a trend in this company getting their measurements wrong! I believe my dress was never ordered! It’s the same dress that I tried on...
