Giant Eagle has the hard to find frozen gluten-free items that I want. They are the only store that always has frozen Whole Grain, gluten-free bread. It's Udis brand, which is the best. Walmart always has Udis gf white bread in their freezer section but not the whole grain that prefer. Giant Eagle also consistently has the gf Cloud Bread. Aldi's only had it one time that I looked for it. Giant Eagle is way expensive, though. Aldis's Cloud bread was priced at $4.99, Giant Eagle was $8. I also go to GE for their delicious gluten-free layer cakes. White with strawberry filling or Chocolate layered with white creamy frosting. They can be found in the bakery department in their freezer case. They are very special looking and the taste is outstanding. However, check dates! I bought cakes in November and found many in the case had Sept dates. I find that every single time I shop here, the employees are always super nice...

Giant Eagle has to be the worst grocery store I’ve ever visited. This is the only store where I’ve consistently encountered expired produce and meat. It’s one thing for expired items to be visible, but intentionally hiding moldy food is beyond disgusting. I bought the ice pineapple, and to my shock, it had mold inside of it. $5-$6 for a bowl of fruit for it to be on the brink of expiration is crazy. As for the meat—what looked fresh when I bought it was slimy and moldy just two days later. This is unacceptable!
Snacks are often only a week or so from expiration, and bread becomes moldy in the same week you buy it. For a store that charges premium prices, this is simply outrageous. I’m not shopping at Save-A-Lot here, I’m spending good money and expect better quality! Giant Eagle needs to get it together. From now on, I’ll be making the trip to...
Read moreSteve in the produce department was exemplary today, a busy shopping day on the day before Easter. A young girl had accidentally dropped a watermelon, which split open and was dripping. The adult she was with was not in the immediate area. I asked Steve for assistance, and he was so kind to her. He quickly put up a sign around the wet floor, assured her that accidents happen and that he would take care of the floor. He relieved her of the split melon, and assured her she was free to go about her business. What could have been traumatizing to a young person was instead a positive experience. I saw her walk away with arms tightly wrapped around a fresh watermelon. ...
