Splinters Boardshop — Local services in Warren

I've been snowboarding for a long time but I have had the same board for over 20 years... a super old, rigid Salomon board from the 90's. Although I love it, I decided maybe it was time to upgrade to a more modern setup. I stumbled into Splinters and found myself talking to Travis who inquired about my ride style, capabilities and just seemed to ask all the right questions. He immediately gravitated to a Capita DOA--a smaller, lighter, modern, softer board--which is basically the exact opposite of what I have been riding my whole life. He looked at me confidently and said, "this is the one". I looked up the reviews on the DOA which were great (almost too good) and recognized there was a bunch of hype about the board which made me a little nervous. Needless to say, I was tentative, but in the end I trusted his judgement. I hit the mountain the next day with my new setup expecting a difficult transition day. Of course, I had the best mountain day of my life, bar none. This board is unbelievable and lives up to all the hype. It just does everything... better! I’m an avid and experienced rider, but don’t exactly consider myself a gear head when it comes to my snowboard gear. I’ve been riding the same board for many years and loving it, but finally decided to upgrade to a new ride. I went into Splinters Boardshop and was immediately greeted by the owner Travis. He took the time to really listen to me as I described my riding style, and the terrain I like to ride best. He made some great recommendations without giving me the hard upsell. got back into snowboarding this year and I don’t know left from right gear wise. My binding broke when I was riding today and the girl + guy helping me in splinters were stellar. They explained the specs on each item I was interested in and also did their best to give me deals in my budget.
