They get 2 stars because 1 is for the pharmacy which is AMAZING. The second is for effort nothing more. I have used this S&S since I moved to the area in 2018. It's never fully recovered since 2020, the quality in so many areas is terrible. My particular reason for this review however is the pick up option. I even reported it to corporate in March, was given $15 gift card for my trouble only to be frustrated at my next used...today. I enjoy pick up because I am extremely busy and it is a nice convenience but the extra money I have to pay for it with the extra hassles has made me decide otherwise. They charge a service fee, used to be $3 now its $4 for pick up. They charge for every bag. The frozen items are always thawed, stopped buying frozen a year ago. They always miss something forget something or mess something up. My final straw was my last visit in March, I ordered a small order and part of that was $20 worth of flowers. When I got to the location... in my designated time slot. No one answered. NOT only did no one answer pick up, I had TWO phones calling at the same time, no one answered pick up no one answered customer service and 3 other people were waiting too for over 7 mins just trying to get a hold of a person to bring our stuff out(thT we pay extra for). By the time the kid came out I was so flustered and had somewhere else to be.. I just wanted to get out of there. I didn't notice until I was home...no flowers. I proceeded to call the store to speak to someone. No answer, they Were open. No one at pick up no one at customer service. And I tried for 2 hours before I finally gave up. Tried AGAIN the next morning. Same thing. Finally reported to corporate who refunded the $20 and added some extra for my frustration. I tried again tonight... and again, disappointed. Sitting in the parking lot another 5-8 mins waiting for someone in the dang store to pick up the phone. And...before someone says "oh the app let's you notify them when you are on your way." That feature has not worked for me, doesnt even SHOW UP...so no that is also not an option. When I get home... the bagging was so ridiculous it was the last straw. I had ordered a few yogurts, a bunch of bananas and a box of tea. All 3 would fit in the same bag no issues. I understand not refrigerating the bananas so...ok tea and yogurt could go together. Nope. Each has a separate bag. That I PAID FOR may I add. Completely ridiculous. I'm officially done. Even Walmart is better than this! Their pick up is FREE their bags are FREE and someone ALWAYS answers the phone. Ive given multiple chances here due to convenience but the hassle of chasing people to do the job they are PAID for, that I get charged EXTRA for....is no longer worth my time. The pharmacy is amazing. That's the only positive thing here. The quality of fresh food has gone down hill too. They've lost a customer who is over the drama of the poor quality of every area of that place. Wholefoods, Dave's, market basket, Walmart.... all better as far as I...

Needs more workers. In all departments. Need to stop having self cash out. It's a joke. We seek out cashiers, rather than a worker standing there watching us do the work, a young worker has to keep coming over to swipe their card. Because the self Cash out sucks. The setup. And the fact that workers are getting paid to stand there and watch us. These young kiddos should be doing the work. And ur bathroom. Good Lord. I've even asked an employee. Do you guys ever clean the bathroom. And I was told, it doesn't look that way. Gross. Because they work with our food, and use the same bathroom. And last but definitely not least. You guys are open till 10pm. Tell me why ppl get out of work to get dinner. And at 5 5:30pm the deli starts cleaning up. And only one person takes customers. No matter how many people are waiting. The olive bar is always already put away? If you close at 10pm and you close the olive bar at 5pm. I don't want to hear sorry. I want a deli worker to fetch what I need from the Olive bar. Wet mozzarella balls, and the Cherry stuffed peppers. I worked in three separate markets in my life. All around the East Coast. And customers always came first no matter what. We could never deny a customer, until a half hour before closing. And only one person, myself breaking down all the slicer machines. And put things back in the freezer, clean the floors, everything. But if a customer walked up, I don't care if the stores are closing in 20mins. I'm helping that customer. Period. And I can't get my son to go back there and work? And I've threatened to kick him out. And he would give me valid reasons why. This store needs way more employees. And a custodian. Not a worker cleaning in the bathrooms. Y'all deal with food! I need my son working there. You guys need my son!? So why won't he go back knowing he already has the job!? Is he telling me the truth!? I'll work part time. And clean bathrooms. Or work in the deli, because I'm very good at it. I don't need any training at all. As long as the store gets better. And it keeps the olive bar out and clean bathrooms and I'll be happy. I'm old and semi sick. I'd rather my son go back there. But I depend on this stop and shop. So I'm willing to help it get better. Sorry so blunt. I'm a 49 yr old woman. We are stuck in our ways. Let's get 5 stars by making some changes. Like getting rid of that stupid robot, input people on the cash registers. And no I can't be a cashier. I can't stand in one place. The self checkout is horrendous. Every 5 seconds an employee has to come over and check our groceries because the weight is wrong or something is not perfect. The employees don’t even look into the matter they just scan their card and by pass it. What is the point of having an employee come over if they aren’t checking anything anyways. The past year the “fresh” fruit and vegetables have mold on it or are about to expire the next day. This use to be a good store but ever since all of the security on the self check out lines and the downgrade in freshness it isn’t worth it. You need to open up more lines with actual cashiers the self check is absolutely horrible. I NEVER write reviews but because of how infuriating this experience is every week I felt I had to. Something needs to change. Why does no other grocerie stores charge for paper bags but you do? Then you pay for these bags just for them to rip while you carry them in your house. On top of that you have to use more paper bags because you can only put a few items in a bag or it will be too heavy and rip. Absolutely ridiculous. Also, you have a survey on the bottom of the receipt to ask how you are doing but it doesn’t give you a spot to comment or give any feedback.
