Legal action needs to be taken against this complex. No, this is not simply normal issues a tenant encounters leading to unjustified anger. This is criminal. Excuse me as I set aside my PTSD. The complex is a health hazard. Hallways are full of broken glass, trash, bullet holes. Roaches/mice in the hall come from walls. Buildings REEK of mold & god knows what else. For a week it smelled of rotten meat & made us sick. As another said, our cat wouldn't even drink the water. They lack dumpsters.. This means walking/driving through 3 parking lots every time you need to take out trash. The office told me to my face that they would add dumpsters to address the issue, & never did. Always overflowing. Get ready to call off when it snows as they do not plow/salt. Our cars got stuck many times & we had to help others move theirs (unsuccessful). Police are there almost every night. Waking up to DV at 3am is disturbing, as is the sound of gunshots. That said, HIGHLY unsafe complex. 3 strangers 3 different times tried to get into our APT & that's JUST while we were there. No cameras. Homeless squatting in hallways/laundry facilities. Fully broken down. I'm serious. Nothing like the photos. No AC, no heat, no shower, no dishwasher, no hot water, broken/dirty washers/dryers. If you think this seems ridiculous, it is. No heat during winter & no AC during summer. The response was to give us a tiny space heater & say it would be looked at soon. Never was. Had to drive to relatives' homes to take showers, laundry at a coin facility, etc. Doors broken, baseboards dirty/broken, carpet was disgusting upon move in. Floor floods when the heater leaks. Outlets broken. Windows don't seal, wasps/flies easily regularly. Window screens broken a touch could push them out (hence the incident with a baby falling from the 3rd story - google it! Google won't let me post links) Gym broken & equipment. Maintenance ignores & never fixes, enters on their own & leaves items. The “boiler is just broken” every year (google this too!). Noise level is insane. Car alarms for HOURS, screaming/loud music in middle the night/dancing, barking for hours (many leave dogs tied outside ALL day). Some do not tie them, leading to 2 smaller dogs/owners being attacked by a big dog. What if it was a child? Playground right next door. Dog poop everywhere. No working pool/hot tub open for more than a few days in summer & a reputation for an incredibly dirty pool w/green water. We were told that rent would be $750 a month plus utilities when we signed. A complete lie. Within months they raised our rent to $1000+ not including utilities. Constant random charges. Concerns expressed & subsequently ignored. One of the worst potholes in Michigan & that's saying something. Landscaping severely neglected.
Before you respond with your whole “sorry to hear this, would you be open to discussing this with a member of our team” spiel, remember the story of the boy who cried wolf. Nobody will take you seriously unless you follow through. Responses to your reviews are laughable. You are not sorry. Gain some respect, it'll serve you well in your business. Your reputation is horrid for good reason. We warned as many future tenants as we could every time we drove by the office. Enjoy throwing money directly into the trash for uninhabitable conditions, gaslighting, & being ignored? Then rent here! Customer service is your last priority. And just wait, they'll have fake reviews posted to drown out mine before you can say the word “scam”. Current residents need to reach out to the OC Health Department and Public Safety as well, seeing as they're only worsening by the sounds of it. I would rate negative stars if it...
Read moreSave yourself the time, and frustration, and the ridiculous $100 application fee. I started the process with these apartments at the end of July. I should have known there would be issues when I received a confirmation text addressed to the wrong person (still not sure where they got the name Ashley, the mystery continues). I spoke to multiple office members (when they did answer the phone, which was few and far between) and I told them I needed a 1 bedroom apartment. I took the tour and paid the fee, and then didn't hear from anyone for a month. I would call and email just about weekly to confirm the status. I had multiple emails unanswered, which just speaks volume to the unprofessionalism. Every time I spoke to someone it was like they did not remember or recall my application. I had to continuously remind them of the apartment size and move in date. I couldn't get any clear information, just that they would call me after Labor Day - yes, that is how much time I spent working with this complex. It wasn't until 3 weeks before my scheduled move in date that I was informed by a 3rd office staff member that there were no 1 bedroom apartments for rent. They waited until 3 weeks to tell me, most likely to trap me into paying an extra $130 a month for rent for a 2 bedroom apartment. I was livid. When I called to discuss this more, no one answered (shocking, I know). I finally called them and got someone on the phone, specifically the staff member who ignored my emails, and I told her I would not be moving in. She asked why, but you could tell she didn't care. Basically I got a "sorry you feel that way" response. I know they have no intention of changing their extremely poor practices. Please avoid this apartment complex if you do not want extra stress. The entire office staff is completely unprofessional and does not care about you or their jobs. You're better off finding a different place to live and...
Read moreDespite management trying to keep things running smoothly, this property continues to have many shortcomings. We lived here November 2021-November 2022. The positives: spacious units, lots of closet space, mature trees, affordable, friendly office staff. The negatives: inconsistent (/nonexistent) maintenance, high staff turn over, residents leaving trash everywhere, issues with crime (frequent police presence, fights, arrests), noisy walls/floors/shared entry (you can hear every foot step from above, the neighbors TVs, and there was always a clicking/popping in the walls), extremely hard water (leaving yellow drips on the walls after every shower). It took 6 months to get living room blinds installed when they promised to have them fixed ASAP after we moved in (and lied to us for months about the status of the repair). The carpets were not cleaned, not even vacuumed, between residents (I vacuumed twice a day for the first week and got almost a full canister every time). The unit above us had a leak that ripped a hole in the paint on our ceiling and maintenance never addressed it (for several months, moving out with it still an eye sore). No control over the heat with it being on a boiler system still, so all winter long we had to blast the AC and keep windows cracked to keep it a comfortable temperature (would easily be 77-80° without running the AC, $$$ on utilities). Then we went almost 2 months with no AC in the heart of summer. Windows aren't sealed well so they're always foggy/covered in condensation so much so that it pools up on the window sills daily (creating mold that caused me to have allergic reactions for the last 2 months of living here despite doing our best to keep it clean). And towards the end of our lease, we were told they were raising rent... A very...
