We all know DG, but this store seems a bit crowded (most do) and sometimes the cashier is out stocking shelves so you have to wait a moment until they notice that you are there (like at other DG’s). There are many newer stores locally and this one could use a reboot inside, outside they are kind enough to have a place to even tie up your horse and buggy along with an fair attempt at landscaping which helps blend it into a residential neighborhood. It’s a good place for a quick cheap purchase, really no more “mom and pop” options anymore locally. The staff here have always been nice, accepting returns without any issue. I do wish that they stocked healthier food and drink options at their chain instead of getting tobacco products recently (again an issue at all of their stores, not this one specifically). There’s one in almost every town now, some are a bit nicer inside, but if you need a DG you won’t have any...
Read moreI stopped in for body wash that was advertised as $2 off with the app. The shelf tag included a barcode to scan for the discount, but after multiple attempts, it failed to work. At checkout, after wasting more time, the issue still wasn’t resolved. Rather than simply honoring the posted discount, it turned into a pissing contest.
I paid full price but filed a corporate complaint. Not everyone has a cell phone, and even those who do can experience technical issues, like the one I showed the manager directly. Despite that, she refused to honor the discount.
I live only a quarter mile from this store, but I’ve decided to shop elsewhere moving forward. Most stores would honor the discount and move on with their day. This manager chose not to. Customer service training, particularly on communication and conflict resolution, is badly needed here. I wasn’t asking for anything free, just the price that...
Read moreThis used to be a nice store. I went in the other night and you can barely get a cart through any of the isles. There is stuff laying on the floors everywhere and full cases also carts with full case setting everywhere. Truly a fire hazard and not handicap friendly if someone with a walker or wheelchair needed to get in the isles your outta luck. The store is dirty and has people trash laying all over the shelves empty coffee cups, soda bottles etc. The store phone laid back on one of the shelves. Very nice girl checked me out while the other worker sat along the building in a lawn chair by the railroad tracks. Won’t be visiting this...
