K2 Vet — Local services in Weatherford

The personnel at K2 Vet are very kind, but they do overcharge immensely. My sister's terrier swallowed a treble hook while fishing and we took her dog to K2 Vet for medical attention. They kept the dog overnight, gave him antibiotics and something to coat his stomach so the hook would not penetrate his intestines. He passed the hook and we picked him up 24 hrs later. Originally, they said it might take 4 days for the hook to pass and the charge would be $450 which was reasonable and which she pre-paid. After just 24 hours however, they charged her $390, reimbursing her $60. The clinic is clean and the personnel knowledgeable, but the charge was extremely excessive. We are glad the terrier is doing well, but are disappointed about the excessive charge. We believe that because we do not live in the Hinton area and would probably not be a regular customer, it would be okay to scam her on the price. Our thoughts about this being such a nice clinic were diminished. We hope we never have to use them again. If so, it will be an emergency and we certainly will not pre-pay. Initially, I loved taking my dogs here. Until recently, they have lost a loyal customer. Took my 3 dogs in to get their nails cut, and for two of them to get allergy shots. They did just that, along with charging me $75 for exam fee for each of my two dogs in addition with the $75 allergy shot fee. My total was over $400. They charged me for exam fees for my dogs for no reason because they didn’t even examine them. I called and talked to a guy and I asked him about the fee and he seemed confused as to why I was charged for exam fees as well. He said to call back after lunch to talk to the receptionist who charged me. After a horrendous night of watching her go through multiple seizures, I called K2 to see if they could get her in.
