Etc. Consignment Shoppe — Local services in Weaverville

Up until today Feb.04 2017 all of my many experiences here have been great.Today was a very bad day.My daughter has PTSD.She has a registered service dog with all documents that travels everywhere with her.Today some smart mouth-clerk named Tonya at Etc.said something to her about her dog being with her. She said manager or owner was allergic to dogs and would have to come in and clean the whole store because the dog was in there store.According to het civil liberties.she has all rights to have the dog with her.Our dog is a hypoallergenic breed and does not shed or have dandruff..I was not there but effected her enough that I have to leave work and come home and calm my child down about this I call Etc .and this clerk named Tonya is a smart ass to me She don't have enough respect to shut her-mouth and listen to someone when they are speaking.Read your Gs laws about service dogs dumbass. She is fortunate that my wife didn't here or she would have been getting dental work done Monday.We will be speaking to the owner as soon as I can.As far as spending any more money there as long as Tonya is working there we will not spend another penny there and only because of Tonya I don't know what her problem is but someone needs to get her attention.Im paying a small part of her salary.It may not matter to the owners but it matters to me.It is not customers are always right but in this case I am.I wonder has this happened to anyone else?? Just curious but if she were blind would she have spoken to her the same way about the dog or would she have spoken to her at all.All ailments are not visible.Our servicemen and women have dogs Would she alienate them to your business also?I will be posting this on all social media that I possibly can .This will not be forgotten easily I can promise you that.I will be in contact with American Civil Liberties Union Monday morning about...

I have shopped at ETC several times over the years and I have also taken clothes in on consignment with excellent results, however, I am writing this review on my last encounter.

In February 2016, I took 23 items of clothing to be sold on consignment. They were accepted. They do not give you a receipt or anything with the number of items you bring in. It's kind of a "trust" issue. That's the way it was before so I am "ok" with that. MISTAKE!!!!!! PEOPLE GET A RECEIPT!!!!!

I went into the store on April 2, thinking they should owe me some money if anything had been sold. They had NO RECORD of anything being brought in since 2009!!!! (that was the last time I took anything)

The girl working that day (the one wearing the long curly wig) kept saying, "I have no record of you even being in the store". That's it!!!! No help! No offer!! No apology!! NOTHING!! I started looking around and spotted, eventually, 5 items that were mine and 'Lo and Behold' they ALL had the same "customer number" on them. Miss Wiggy says, "Well, I can't just take them off of her list. (WHY NOT??? THEY ARE MINE!!!! I'm thinking).

"Besides", Miss Wiggy continues, "I'm sure Cato made more than one blouse the same color." "I said, "But the chances of ETC having the same size and the same color in this shop is very slim". She acted like she didn't like my comment and said nothing!!!

Finally Miss Wiggy goes to lunch and the younger girl tried her best to help and was extremely nice. Meanwhile, I and my friend found other items that were mine.

Needless, to say.... Miss Wiggy offered NO HELP and NO APOLOGY when she returned from lunch. I guess I am just supposed to "forget" about this????

The owner wasn't in that day. I'm hoping she will call me...... Stephanie...

I've visited this store 3 times. There are a lot of women's clothes, some odds and ends in the household section, and meager selection for mens and childrens. However, the first time I went there, the 3 women at the counter were whispering back and forth about a consignor that had just left. They were giggling and making jokes about their consignors, which I found distasteful, but purchased some items anyway. The 2nd time I went, the clerks were rude towards me. They spoke over me, correcting me when I asked them a question about consigning. And never actually looked at me, just talked about me to each other. I left without purchasing anything. And finally, I thought I'd give them another chance, because I'm due for some new clothes, and they have a decent selection. This time they spoke over their own consignors and repeatedly whispered/talked/laughed about them once they had left. I was disguisted and put my items back and left. These women may have nice clothes, but their character is lacking. If they must talk about their own consignors, don't do it in front of other customers. Just distasteful. I'll never go there again, there are plenty of other consignment stores...
