Welllllll I loved this complex the first couple months i was here it severely has went down hill and that's why we are moving. The past 6 months have been absolute hell between kids destroying my property and all the plants I put in and paid for in the garden plot to having red clay on my car and being smeared all over the hallways by unsupervised kids it's a wreck. Don't expect management to do anything except for send a silly little email bc they could really care less about you or the stuff you've paid for. I've also had little girls throw ROCKS AT MY DOG and management has yet to address it. We have neighbors above who's kids start at 5am that meow, scream and run at all times of the day and it's ALLLL DAY. I get no quiet time at all and it's so incredibly frustrating. They run so hard they knock my lightbulbs out of my ceiling, and again management has yet to do anything about it, they usually just say they're gonna "handle it", never happens. Getting sleep has seemed almost impossible for the past 6 months and I am miserable. Not to mention the dogs below me that were obviously neglected and barked for around 7-8 hours a day with NO RELIEF. Finally it has stopped but I still have my upstairs neighbors who are relentless. Please also know you might not getting parking near your building bc there are constantly unregistered cars from out of state that don't even live there, not to mention they take up the handicap spots where my mom NEEDS to park. They've also overcharged me so many times and have to give me credits bc they can't refund me my money. For as much as I'm paying I'd expect more from this complex as that is what they preach so hard. Honestly I'm beyond disappointed in this complex, there is so much more but these are the big reasons why I've...
Read moreObviously the town of Weaverville has had some difficulty with hurricane Helene affecting so many lives. One would hope that the community would support its residents and help in times of disaster. Not Hawthorne. We were without power or water for 18 days total, with 2 little kids and myself being 7 months pregnant. You could say this was out of the property's control, except every building was restored much earlier with the exception of half of our particular building. Our unit was in the one half of the building that they left with nothing. And instead of doing the right thing- maybe providing a generator for those units or even prorating those days where we were without- NOPE! This property decided to just leave it and deny any kind of concessions in the wake of a natural disaster out of our control. It is disgusting that they will not accommodate any proration despite our unit being completely uninhabitable, and me losing my job because we could not live in our residence. We asked to be let out of our lease during the time we were without power and water, so we could try to rebuild our lives after losing employment and 18 days without a residence, and nope! They won't allow that either. We weren't asking for the world, just some understanding. And as a side note, if you visit their FB page, they have removed all ability to comment. They stated they had power 2 weeks ago, that's an outright lie. They have turned off everything, I am sure we're not the only residents who are being taken advantage of. So that's what you can expect living here- corporate greed and zero compassion for you as a human. If that works for...
Read moreAmenities rule at this amazingly hidden gem north of Asheville. There is a salt water pool, fireplace party location, pet park, fitness room with yoga and dance room, business center and clubhouse with coffee and hot chocolate. The apartments are all new and they have modern appliances and our particular 2 bedroom has an awesome island with a granite counter top. I love the brushed nickel ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms. I also love that a washer and dryer is included, and I am talking side by side. The location is great with a Walmart, 3 grocery stores and numerous restaurants all within a minute of the complex.
Now, since this place is brand new, this is where a slight deduction occurs. There are some maintenance issues that crop up due to the fact that these apartments are new and untested. The good news is that maintenance is on top of things and they are very quick to respond. There is also a good deal of construction traffic and moving traffic as the complex is not finished and new buildings are opening constantly. Amenities are not quite complete, but they are coming along quickly. This is a good quality complex and worth the 10 minute drive from Asheville. *I amended this review and bumped it up to 5 stars when, not only did they get the jobs done around the apartment that the contractor did not originally get right, the contractor gave a gift card to us for the trouble. I have never had an apartment company recover so well from maintenance issues. The bottom line: they make it right when...
