I have been taking my two dogs there for grooming and usually their grooming/ haircuts are decent or they are able to fix it once I point something out while picking them up. Recently I had horrible experience there and left me wondering about their service and attitude. One of my dogs who is 14 yr old was left with cuts and bleeding. When I dropped him, I asked to trim his face face but leave the whiskers alone ( something all other groomers have done all his life without any issues) When I went to pick him up I realize his entire face was not trimmed at all. I asked the front desk lady again if they could trim hair on his face but leave the whiskers. She took my dog to the groomer’s station where the groomer lady was already in middle of grooming another dog. The groomer asked the front desk girl (who btw was very sweet) to hold my dog still so she can groom him. Please note that the other dog standing on the grooming station was already nervous and shaking. Now there is my dog who is confuse, anxious and very uncomfortable and hanging in the air while she brings scissors and trimmer near his eyes. I realize that both dogs are uncomfortable and asked her to put my dog on an empty grooming stand and then trim his face, I offered that I can help hold my dog at the station (please note that my dog is very well behaved and obedient but at this point I could see he is uncomfortable and wondering what’s going on). The groomer lady who had lot of attitude, said she can’t leave the other dog alone.
Are you serious??? How about you ask the front desk lady who is holding my dog in air to watch the other dog and put my dog on a proper grooming station and I had already offer to hold him twice by now if she needs help. May be was just being lazy and didn’t want to move or take extra step to be safe and cautious or just some attitude.
Then starts the grooming nightmare. She said it’s a “big ask” to leave whiskers and trim rest of his face (apparently it’s a rocket science). I told her I am not asking her to go in-between whiskers or anything, just leave the whiskers and do rest of the face, eyes, cheeks, jaw and forehead etc. She started doing his face in great hurry not being cautious or careful at all ( again my dog’s face is t’s being trimmed while he is being held in the air). She started with left side of his face is completely trimmed it including whiskers, everything all gone. I am stranding there in shock at her speed and carelessness. She repeated again see I told you it’s a “hard ask”
She asked me while rushing what I want to do with the other side. I am standing there in shock and I said “well I think we have to trim the other side a little short but not too much so it’s not as ……………. Before I even finish my sentence she rushed and completely trimmed all his whiskers on the other side as well. Just seeing how fast, careless she was with scissors and trimmer while my dog is hanging uncomfortable in the air. I just said it’s all good, took my dog and left. Also there is another anxious and uncomfortable dog on the station we standing at.I just wanted to put both dogs out of misery. I realize she wasn’t listening anyways and it’s not gonna get any better.
I called them when I sat 2-3 times to make sure they put it in my chart not to have this groomer work on my dog again. No one answered. I left voice message but no response.
When I reached home as I am taking my dog out of the car, his face is bleeding. I cleaned his face and saw two deep cuts where he is bleeding from. This made me and my husband very upset seeing our poor 14 yrs old extremely good boy bleeding like that. Next day my husband noticed another cut on his belly.
Someone called us ONE time ( after our numerous unanswered calls). I missed that call but have called them numerous time and left voicemails as since then. They never...
Read moreI was disappointed to find that this groomer was unwilling to devote any time or effort to their job beyond the quick way out. I brought my 1 year old Maltese-Poodle in for a grooming and was told by the groomer that she would only shave him after a 30 second glance at matted portions of his paws, lower legs, and tummy. I insisted that she take the time to carefully brush and trim those matted areas and she refused.
I was then make to feel like a negligent pet owner and overheard "good luck little buddy" in a sickeningly demeaning tone as we departed. The staff here seemed incompetent and lazy and not to be entrusted with a basic customer service request, let alone a beloved pet.
Frustrated, I then took him home and took an hour with a detangling agent, brush, de-matting rake, hammock, and patience and lo and behold he was matt free after a very slow, non painful, and methodical brushing and careful trimming. I then gave him a bath, blow dried him, trimmed his hair, and he was out chasing balls in the yard and going about his day.
He is an incredibly active young dog and gets matted very easily on his legs from playing outside in wet grass and from walks etc. I have de-matted him frequently since I got him as a small puppy and was hoping that I would find a groomer willing to take the time to help him and me without taking the easy way out. I brush him frequently but it can spiral quickly. With his hair type and activity level matting occurs quickly. I used to have a groomer up to the task before I moved to this area. I went by good reviews for this groomer and was quite disappointed in what I was met with.
Also - before I get the tiresome and cliché "it's for the safety and comfort of the dog" response that seems to have taken hold of the grooming profession in recent years: I am hyper vigilant about the well being and comfort of my dog. That is why I brought him to this groomer today. I would never subject him to anything that would be painful or harmful to him. However, a situation that was solved with relative ease and a bit of time was something I'd have far preferred be done by a professional. I am not a dog groomer, after all, was looking for some meaningful assistance, and expected more out of these supposed “professionals”. I simply wanted someone to give him some extra time and effort for a good outcome for all. I'd have been happy to pay for any extra time involved.
I say all of this not to negate others positive experiences with this groomer but rather to share my less than ideal encounter. It is clear that I will never return to...
Read moreThis place did an amazing job on my girls Nala (Siberian Husky) and Ella (lab mix)! I always get scared when I take my husky to a groomer because I have heard horror stories of places shaving huskies. This place comforted me the moment I dropped my girls off asking if it was okay if they trimmed Nala’s hair to make it even.
What I loved after is the groomer did meet with me after to talk about Nala and to let me know that she spent quite a bit of time brushing Nala since she had so many knots. She even told me that Nala didn’t like being brushed but she got as many as she could get out! I really appreciated them meeting with me to let me know. I face palmed because I knew she had a knots because she didn’t get brushed after she spent the day at the lake. But I appreciated that the groomer didn’t blame me or make me feel bad for Nala’s knots. They were very kind and very professional. (I tipped them extra because Nala looked amazing and you could see the effort the groomer took making sure she addressed the knots)! I learned my lesson to make sure she gets brushed after she gets wet. Hopefully no more bad knots!
Both dogs were so happy when I picked them up and they didn’t seem to be stressed out. They got home and started playing with their toys (I thought they would have been exhausted). Ella is so proud of her fur, she showing off head held high and walking around making sure everyone sees her! It’s so cute!
I would totally bring my girls back here. They look great and...
