I do not recommend home delivery with them! They brought my great grandmother Pine straw and the deliverer, (Jacob/Jake) was very rude and unprofessional! He parked across the street and threw the bales out the side of his truck and walked them across the road and went back and forth dropping half of the bales. Given it was windy, every bale he dropped split in half and got scattered all over the yard, road, and ditch. We asked Jacob/Jake multiple times to pull into the driveway he told us it was “policy” that he couldn’t the first time my great grandmother asked him to he said “ma'am don’t talk to me”. He even kicked some of the pieces that fell!! I called the store and talked to the manager (Steven) regarding that “policy”, and he called Jake/Jacob and Jake/Jacob told Steven that “he couldn’t pull into the driveway without getting in the yard because it was narrow” WE HAVE A FENCE AROUND THE YARD, and driveway on most of the yard!! Anyways Steven came and brought us 2 more bales of pine needle and then kept making excuses on Jake/Jacobs behavior and unprofessionalism! When I told Steven about the remark Jacob/Jake said about “maam don’t talk to me” he looked at my great grandmother and said “did he really” and my great grandmother just looked at him and gave him a look and he said “that doesn’t sound like something Jake would say”.

Your employees and managers need to do better!! We won’t be receiving no more “home deliveries” or even store products from this Ace...

I received a factory recall repair for my E GO Hedge trimmer and advised to take it to Johnson Ace Hardware. I arrived and Owner ( Steve Stroup) required me to leave a $30.00 refundable fee after repair completion. After factory recall repair Mr. Stroup refused to return deposit and told it was an "Administrative Fee' and did not return my $30.00. I complained to E GO Headquarters and they returned my $30.00 , stating the deposit was wrong and the returned my deposit. I also filled a complaint with Ace Headquarters which they accepted (#5995627). Mr. Stroup treated me very unfairly and rude for just a $30.00 returnable fee, which was promised by his store once repairs recall were completed. I USE TO BE A CUSTOMER THERE. Wayne Wallace

Owner of this Ace Store (Mr. Stroup) is not truthful. I was told that my recall deposit, that he added, would be returned once factory recall was completed, his associates even told me so. Mr. Stroup reneged on that promise. He denies this, not truthful. Factory recalls of his products should never be a charge to the customer. The factory agreeded with me and they returned the deposit as a courtesy to their customer. Think about it, the factory paid ACE for their recall. How shameful Mr. Stroup. MAY GOD BE WITH YOU...

During the Snow-pocalypse (February 2015) I needed to get Ice melt and a snow shovel. I called and was told that they had snow shovels in stock. When we arrived the shovels were about 6 inches wide; not effective in my book. So we figured we were there so lets get Ice melt for the driveway. So i paid at the cashier and was told to drive to the side and someone would load it. WELL they loaded something, but not what I wanted. They decided that an equal substitute would be water softener salt. this stuff is twenty times the size, won't fit through my spreader and completely useless to me. OOOOOO and did i mention the price I paid for the ice melt was 14.99... but what they gave to me is sold for 5.99$!!!

I called and spoke to the manager that said this was completely acceptable and that if i did not return it that day (45 mins till close) they would not refund me my money. They "do not do returns on this item". Customer satisfaction means nothing to these people and they are looking to rip you off at any moment. Go to the ig box store, you'll save money and hassle!!!
