Most of my professors are amazing, they care about their students and truly love teaching. The classrooms are very nice and comfortable, so is the campus overall (very cozy and beautiful). The librarians are the BEST here! I come to the library to study and complete homework and all of them always make an effort to greet students and always help with an issue. A few librarians helped me with a struggle in my micro apps class and went above and beyond to solve the computer application problem. The sweetest people ever. I always love coming to the library. The book selection is nice too if you’re looking for classic lit and some new fiction, more and more seem to be added each time I visit :) My one issue with PHSC porter is that the people I’ve met working in the advising building have never really been friendly :(. I never look forward to going because most of them I’ve had to interact with aren’t very welcoming and they treat students like a chore. They bark at you for not signing into the computer properly, barely make eye contact. I wish they were warmer and more helpful, most of the time they direct you to go home on zoom and wait for a few hours. I’ve heard the same thing from many other students too. I hope that will change as Porter campus continues to grow because a welcoming, cozy and kind office with people who want to help would be an exceptional addition to...
Read moreI was in the pharmacy technician program, and at the end of the first semester it was announced that there not be a program next year even though high school student and schools have came for field trips, there where 4 people in the class two professors one was had great communication skills and was an excellent teacher, she ended up leaving for the second semester. The other had health issues and did not have communication skills at all hours late to class, and will call class off. Now as having personal issues with this professor loosing my exams and I had to take them over twice. And I had to go out of the county on short notice due to my grandfathers death. And I still made descent grades. But wait till the last mid term exam the passing score was a 75 I received a 72 and that was that 2grand gone and all my gas taken to drive to class and all the time waisted when professor wanted to come in late and not communicate. The second semester there where only two people left and I hear noting but pure nonsense about the current professor. And the advisors there are no help when you have a real issue just trying to register for a class. I will never go here again for a program nor degree. My advice go to a university and get that degree make your money and be...
Read moreLet me first start out by saying the education is a joke here. 10% of your grade is “video notes”, video notes consist of you practically teaching yourself the class from a video, as the teacher cannot teach you but only answer questions from a video “lecture”. The advising office staff are lazy and rude. I had to come in multiple times for assistance and every time but one visit i watched as the advisors chit chatted while myself and other students sat there waiting for help. The best part is trying to get a refund after you drop classes before the cut off. Apparently they didn’t send my information that i made a payment to the third party you’re supposed to get a refund from. No one was willing to help me or provide me with an answer on when i’d get my refund so I had to dispute the charge with my bank to receive a...
