I needed a washing machine part (shipping bolts) for my mom’s washer so that she could move it properly. I went to Central Appliance and asked about it, thinking there was no chance they’d have it. They didn’t have the exact bolts, because my mom’s washer is several years old, but the service guy (I didn’t get his name, unfortunately) looked up what bolts my mom’s washer used and then looked them up to see if they had anything compatible. They only had the shipping bolts in some of their washers for sale, so this guy went out to his service truck, got his tools, and removed the bolts we wanted from a washer. All of this took about 20 minutes. He then charged us what the bolts would have cost new (much cheaper than amazon) labeled them so the movers would know where they go. Honestly, this was one of the best customer service moments I’ve ever experienced. These guys spent a long time helping me with something somewhat odd, and which didn’t result in a big sale. I don’t live in the Midwest, which they knew, so I am not really a potential customer. My mom is moving away, so she’s not a potential customer. Yet they helped us anyway, to their inconvenience, with a happy attitude: not like they were doing us a big favor, but just like this is how they treat everyone. Long story long. If I lived around here and needed appliances, I would only go here. I would be a loyal customer for life. If I had to recommend an appliance store, it would be this. I can’t think of the last time someone went out of their way to help me quite so much, and because of that, these guys and this store deserve as much business as they can handle. Read moreWe brought a Kitchenaid refrigerator May 21th, 2018 one week later the ice maker quit. Now I have to wait two weeks. For that to be fixed Next the fan made noise was told we don’t work on Kitchenaid. The day I went To buy I wasn’t told they don’t work on them. So I have to have someone else service it. Two more weeks and spoiled food. I said I’m not very happy and upset. I was told that’s why you have a warranty. To cover it. It felt like you got my money and then someone else is to stand by it. Brianne at the desk was the only person who told me I’m sorry and yes you should get the maximum five year warranty on it. For free. She agreed with me. I told them how would you feel if you spend that kind of money and this happened. Oh, that’s why you got a warranty again I hear. I said for all the trouble I’m going threw I should get the five year warranty for free. So I’m waiting to see if I get it. I spent alot of $$$$$ on something I can’t use. But it has a warranty. Bad experience for me. Come to fined out it’s been in the store since September 24, 2017. Kitchenaid told me. So I’m waiting the out come of this. I don’t know if I will go back. Read moreStopped in the West Des Moines store to ask if they fix Samsung refrigerators since my 5 year old one was not cooling. Met Ryan at the store who agreed to be at my house the next day to repair. He showed up at the appointed time and immediately began to work on the unit. After a short while he located the problem and explained to me what had to be done to fix it. He discussed the cost of the repair and provided the cost of the part. Also spent time showing me exactly what went wrong. After getting approval to proceed, the repair work was professionally completed. I was quite impressed with the willingness to get this fixed in short order. All work was fully explained along with the cost which did not seem at all unreasonable. I would certainly recommend Ryan and Central Appliances for repair work.
January 26, 2022. Last week our very old upright freezer died and we needed a quick replacement. Went to a couple big box stores which were no help and more importantly did not have any freezers. Stopped in Central Appliance because of their previous good repair service and got immediate help from the knowledgeable salesperson, Alex.
