LeRoy’s Place — Restaurant in West Des Moines

The last time I had been in this space it was a coffee shop and you would never know that now!

They did a great job transforming this spot into a nice sports bar. LP is an unassuming Iowa Hawkeye bar offering your staple macro beers (Budweiser, Coors, Miller, Blue Moon, and Guinness) as well as some nice Iowa craft beers, seltzers, and a nice liquor selection to whip up cocktails.

For food they have burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and plenty of pub grub appetizers. The Italian Beef with a mac and cheese side didn't disappoint!

Tried a margarita (yum) and taco pizza—thin and crispy crust, romaine lettuce! Anything besides iceberg is always a hit with me. Service was just right. On a later visit, I tried a chicken sandwich and coleslaw (also pretty good). Third visit was a southwest burger with fries. The fries weren’t great (too thick, not cooked enough).
