Pau Hana Kava Bar — Local services in West Melbourne

I have been in the kava community for years here in Brevard! I have frequented many over the years and still do to this day. Pau Hana is the one where I can walk in and feel most welcomed! Whether it be in the morning, during the week or late afternoon or evening, it makes a difference walking into somewhere and feeling like they actually notice you and care that you are there vs a kava bar you walk into an you can tell that the bartenders are upset or having that feeling that they don't want to serve you! I have never felt that way at Pau Hana not even once! The kava: is one of the best I have had on the Space Coast, and as I said above I have been to many of the bars in Florida! The brewer knows what he is doing and does it right! I have not had any side effects such as sweats or upset stomach and no matter the day or time I have sat down to have a Kava at Pau Hana Kava Bar it is always smooth and tastes as kava should not gritty or bitter or ever old or stale/sour/or an old batch! As far as the employees at Pau Hana Kava Bar, they are who make the community! I had the opportunity of meeting Alinka (I know Im butchering the spelling) at her previous place of employment at Starbucks where she was not only a fast employee, always with a smile on her face making everyone feel welcome and wanted you to be there, she remembered details about each of her customers to make them feel like they for even a couple minutes of their day are cared about! She also makes some killer tasting drinks if you ever take a break on lunch during the week and need a kratom tea but dont want that bitter taste!! If you want to know what mixes well with Kratom and Kava or have never tried the two, Derek has been in the community and it shows! His knowledge for not just the kava and kratom and what it does to your body but he also knows what pairs the best to make the greatest drink! I have also attended the plant swap events and found that he is very very knowledgeable in plants, and made it so fun to learn about them as well! Derek always makes everyone feel as they are wanted to be there and I have even seen people come in just to see if he is working! *Savanna has been at Pau Hana the longest I believe, and I have known her for many years in the kava community as we used to frequent the same! Her knowledge about not just making drinks but making everyone feel welcomed and making sure they want to come back! Cali has proved she is more than just someone who serves drinks. She along with all of the Kavatenders possess a unique blend of skill and characteristics that contribute to a positive kava bar experience whether it be someone Ive seen her interact with a multitude of times, a Ubereats driver or someone who has came in for their first time! Eloise has fostered a sense of community and connection, creating a warm and inclusive environment!! She has a focus on creating a positive experience through both the beverages served and their interaction style and has the best and most diverse music selection! Eloise listens to customers, assess their preferences, and offer recommendations to ensure that everyone is having a great experience not just a few people in the bar but everyone and she does it with her own style! Owners/management: In essence, a good kavatender makes a good kava bar and I think Pau Hana has an amazing team! Each person contributes to making the kava experience enjoyable and memorable, whether you're seeking relaxation, socializing, or simply trying kava for the first time. I love going into an establishment that not only knows what Kava and Kratom is or does but cares about its community as a whole and this is what Pau Hana...

I have visited Pau Hana nearly every day since it's opening in early 2023. While I'd like to say the lighting, comfortable seats and room temperature, great drinks, and general ambiance make for a great space to get my work done - I think the honest answer to why I return every day is the community I join there.

The employees and owners have clearly intentionally cultivated a space for customers to make friends, relax, focus on work, or celebrate - as a customer here, the choice is yours. Having frequented many bars with staff that constantly push sales onto customers, or a rowdy customer base that prevents you from focusing on work when you need some space, I cannot express how valuable this place has become to me for standing out above the rest.

Kava Bars are becoming more common given how attainable it is to run a bare-bones bar and make it profitable, but Pau Hana is a shining example of why those other bars ultimately fall short. I have personally experienced the level of effort the owners and staff have contributed to making this place meaningful first, and profitable second. From a customers perspective - this makes an enormous difference.

I have been in the kava bar scene for a long time now and I enjoy every kava bar I've been to but hands down, Pau Hauna has the most amazing, loving, and emotionally supportive Kava tenders. Not only is every single employee great listeners but extremely knowledgeable about kava and kratom. The kratom tea is amazing and super potent and the kava is as well. I don't have any ill will towards any of the other kava bars so this is not a Biased review. I truly feel like I'm walking into my Zen room at home when I walk in the doors. I am always greeted with love and kindness! The owners are amazing humans as well with beautiful souls and are not in it for the money, they are here to help people. I would advise anyone in Brevard county to come to this amazing Kava bar. You will not regret it and you will leave feeling loved and understood. In the end I just want to reiterate that I have no ill will towards any of the other kava bars in the town such as Island Root and Kavasutra, both of those bars are amazing and loving as well, but it's just not the same as the amazing energy of Pau Hauna.
