Absolutely terrible customer service experience. I called ahead prior to confirm they would purchase a Home Depot gift card. Upon arrival, I noticed a sign stating they paid 75% on Home Depot gift cards (per person, per day), which is what I was told on the phone. I have just recently moved to Pittsburgh, so I haven't transferred over my drivers license yet. I was informed by a member of the staff that their store policy is to not buy gift cards from anyone with an out of state ID. While this was disappointing since I drove all the way out there after calling ahead, my boyfriend was with me and he had his PA drivers license, so he offered it to her. She began conferring with another employee sitting toward the back. Then, without even looking at his ID, she told that us that purchasing our gift card would "empty their cash drawer" and we should go somewhere else (they recommended MaxPoint and National Gold Buyers). She stated that they would both pay the same amount (75%) for my card. I told her that I'm not from the area and asked her approximately where they were located or what time they closed (as it was currently almost 6 p.m.) and she informed me that she didn't know and I should Google it. The drive out there and back was a complete waste of my time. I find it hard to believe that the purchase of my card would have "emptied their drawer" since their entire business model is based upon purchasing such things. While I completely understand their store policy, I found their demeanor completely rude and unprofessional. I will never go back there. I called several other stores in the area and I was told that as long as my ID was valid (not expired), it wasn't an issue. I ended up going to Gold Rush in Dormont on West Liberty (Maxpoint). While I did concede 5% (they paid 70%), it was completely worth it. They were friendly, professional, and quick! In addition to highly recommending them, I will definitely go there again in the future. If you're looking to sell your gift cards, appreciate good customer service, and consider your time valuable, I highly recommend going to Gold Rush and steering clear of the Gold Buyers...
Read moreHad the pleasure of stopping into the store at the beginning of the week. I was met by two very friendly young women, who were actually interested in seeing what I had... While Nicole patiently took care of me, a young couple were just leaving after he picked up a neck chain that he was extremely happy with, but couldn't talk his honey into anything until they were almost out the door and he spotted a little gold heart bracelet that everyone loved! My point being we all just for that one minute shared a kind of happy with each other!! I saw how fairly they treated other customers and myself; got the best price I could for my jewelry, and I will never deal with another big name store...
Read moreI had the wonderful pleasure of the assistance from Nichole during my adventures at The Gold Buyers of Pittsburgh in West Mifflin. Nichole explained in details, while she was determining the value of my gold that I brought in to be appraised. Nichole, gave me a fair and higher value then the gold buyers I had tried. After the gold buying experience, I was so delighted with the amount of value, that she then showed me beautiful gently worn jewelry. I not only purchased a gorgeous gem stone gold ring, but I also had extra cash!!! One stop shopping and a delightful experience and atmosphere!!! Thank you Nichole at the Gold Buyers of Pittsburgh in...
