The service was terrible and the food wasn’t much better. It honestly seemed liked our server was inconvenienced by us coming in for breakfast. After my daughter’s order came in, the waitress never even asked if everything was there, ok, or if anything else was needed. If she did, I would have let her know that there was missing toast in my daughter’s meal. When I walked up to her and asked if the toast was coming, she started arguing with me that we didn’t order any. I let her know that it was part of my daughter’s orders under the description of the meal (Attached a copy of the menu to show her order included toast). Again, she continued to be nasty until I asked her if we could have an order of toast. When it finally got to our table, she all but tossed it on the table with no response to either of us, even when my daughter said thank you. She never came to our table to check on us for anything to see if everything was ok or if we needed any refills or anything else. All she did was drop the check on the table and walk away. She was not waiting on anyone else so it wasn’t like she had to get back to any other patron. Honestly, I should have realized this place wasn’t that great, when the place was nearly empty for breakfast at 8:30 in the morning.
I wish I could say the food made up for it, unfortunately, that was not the case. The bacon wasn’t cooked completely, and in turn, was extremely rubbery. I only at half of my breakfast sandwich because that was all I could stomach. I guess it’s good that my waitress never came around for coffee refills, because even that tasted terribly bitter. I remember coming here years ago and the breakfast was fantastic, but I guess the name changed/went under new management and now the experience was extremely disappointing. Avoid coming here at all costs! This appears to be an ongoing problem, especially after reading the other patrons reviews after going here. Safe to say, we will not be coming here again and will be sure to pass that sentiment to friends and...
Read moreMy wife and I have been here about 5 times and have always had great food and service. Today we took my brother, his wife and our niece out to breakfast here because of our past experiences. Today was a complete 180 from the past. The food was decent but not like the previous times we've been here. The service was downright awful. First, after waiting 10 minutes for coffee I had to go to the counter from my table to get it myself, only to pass our waitress coming back inside from a cigarette break. Second, multiple people who arrived after us were well into their meals by the time ours started to come out (we all feel she didnt put our order in until after her cig break). When they did, they came out one at a time and in 5 minute increments. My 6 year old niece was the last to be served her meal (45/1hour minutes to make a waffle) after all of us were sharing our meals with her because she was so hungry. While eating another 5 to 7 minutes to wait after asking for more coffee and water. Oh, I forgot to mention as we were getting our check my sister in laws sausage biscuits and gravy finally came out and they were cold (they comped the biscuits and gravy). My wife and I have been together 7 years and both agree the service we had Today was the worst we've ever had in that time. I'm very disappointed and a bit disgusted. The only thing we were ever apologized for was the sausage biscuits and gravy and the waitress blamed the kitchen staff on the waffle being so late saying they were short staffed. Very bad look for her. I can honestly say, even after the good experiences in the past this one has ruined us for Ham & Eggers. I understand things happen but the overall experience today was so bad we can't look past it. Shame on you...
Read moreMy son and I arrived on a Sunday around 11:45 am and got our names on a list, as the diner was busy. During the 45 minutes we waited, approximately 20 people finished their meals, paid, and left the restaurant. During that time, no one waiting was seated, and no eye contact was made by any employees. Finally, at 12:30, one of the employees addressed the 8 or so people waiting, saying that the owner said that they were "wiped out" and wouldn't be seating anyone else. No one had been seated since before noon, more than 2 hours before closing time. Whether the owner was indifferent, cowardly or both by not addressing the issue directly, it probably is an overall indication of a poorly run establishment. The owner could have taken any of a number of steps other than sending out an employee with the news. First, and most obvious, seat the people waiting, turn the open sign to closed and lock the door, if you aren't taking any more customers, and if menu items are limited, let people just seated know and they get to decide. Employees would have to unlock the door to let people out, but they pay at the register as is, so it's only a few steps from the door. If that isn't an option, then simply make the call much earlier. If you are going to turn away people already inside, then the owner/manager needs to address it directly and probably offer a coupon or a free meal for a future visit. That's what someone who cared about their customers would do. This...
