Village Shop 'n Save — Local services in West Mifflin

This store has gone downhill. The food is past expiration, moldy, discolored meats, old deli meat being used, iced tea bins are constantly left on u-boat in aisle getting warm then eventually put in the cooler, making them taste horrible. Frozen foods are often freezer burnt which you don't realize until after you buy them and get them home and opened. Bagged cheeses get moldy days after buying. ALWAYS check the dates here before putting items in your cart! Also, I've had to leave this store SEVERAL times without buying my items because it is FREEZING COLD in there. I feel bad for the employees who have to work like that. Cashiers are always nice, kind and approachable. The plastic bags are so thin and cheap they break all the time. Even when doubled. So many times my heavier items like jarred sauces and milk have ripped through these cheap bags while carrying to and/or from my car. I've even had several glass items rip through and break when they hit the ground. This all makes me question what type of person owns or runs this store??? They need to be replaced with someone who cares about the store, the customers and the employees. It's...

I can’t say I was impressed. I did buy a few things to support a local business but most of the produce looked bad so I can see the 50% off. Most of their makeup and other non grocery items came from Rite Aide closing down. Some of the make up looks expired, and they are still selling it at full or close to full price, when they probably got it for a fraction of the price. I literally saw some makeup and other items with rite aid tags still, which is which confirmed my suspicion. I really wanted to support a local business, but that’s just off to me and doesn’t seem like a good business practice. I never go in this grocery store but was in the area and in a hurry. First of all the place smells like decomposing corpses I almost vomited from the smell, there appeared to be mold on the floor near the freezer cases. I should have just walked out. But I needed something quick for dinner and it was late, I purchased some frozen items, I cooked the OnCor beef patties that I bought and they were actually black and smelled horrible. Disgusting!!!!! I threw everything that I bought away except for the pop $45 in the trash!!!!! I don’t know how anything about this store is legal or sanitary.
