I first met Abby two years ago when she altered my sweet 16 dress. She was very kind and passionate and really put her time into each and every customer. I recently returned to Abby to alter another dress for me, for my prom and it was the worst experience I’ve had. When I first dropped off the dress for her to alter it her whole demeanor was just off. She seemed to have changed dramatically. Her whole persona and attitude seemed like it did a 360. I thought maybe she was just was overwhelmed with prom season or she was having a rough day so I just brushed it off and didn’t think much of it, until I called her to see when I could pick up the dress. When I called and asked when I could pick up the dress she got very irritated with me over the phone and raised her voice. It definitely caught me off guard and shocked me that she would talk to a customer like that. Turns out the issue was the girl she has that works for her that seems to mostly stay behind the counter for the most part, had never written down my pick up date on the ticket. I was told I would get a call back with my pick up day, I never received a phone call. I called again and she said she has no idea where the dress is which made me start to worry. I called one more time and she said she had found the dress and she did finally give me a pick up day. When I received the dress she sewed on the straps incorrectly. The straps were suppose to criss cross on my back and she just took them and made it regular straps (over the top of the shoulder straight down). The straps were also sewed on tangled. The only way to fix it was to cut it untangle and re sew. I also wanted a slit in the gown which she only cut up to below my knee. A slit is suppose to come up to mid thigh. The first layer and second layer was never sewed to each other so the first layer kept falling in front of the small slit she made so it wasn’t visible whatsoever. The fabric of the dress is almost like a silk and when we received it there were all these little pulls all over the front of the dress. The dress looked like it had been worn already. My guess is she dragged it across something and the fabric started to get pulled so there all these little strings hanging all over the front. When I called to have her fix the dress I was told she wouldn’t do it till next Tuesday, I reminded her that my prom was the following day (next Wednesday) but I was told repeatedly that she would only be able to do it Tuesday. When I had first dropped the dress off before Abby had even touched it, I was told I had to pay even though zero work had been done to the dress yet nor have I seen the finish product. I paid $140.00 just for her to mess my dress up. My friend had also gone to Abby to have her dress altered and she said her straps were all messed up as well, and when Abby bunched the layers up to hem it she left it all pinned up inside. I would not recommend Abby sew right nor will I be returning to this establishment. This place should be renamed...
Read moreI want to first say that I absolutely loved my wedding dress that I purchased at Abbey Sew Right. I was however very disappointed with my alterations. I only had one wedding fitting and received my dress the day before my wedding. My bustle broke within the first hour and I was tripping over my dress the entire night and so was my husband and everyone else. The week after the wedding I went to talk to Abbey about it and explain how unhappy I was and if there was something she could do to give me some of my money back since I was disappointed. Nothing happened and I called left messages and tried to stop in but she was never open when I tried. I’m not cheap by any means but I bought my dress and veil there and spent a lot of money on alterations to not have them hold up on my big day. I also played phone tag with her for weeks trying to get an appointment for my fitting in the first place. Always leaving my phone number to call me back and then the day before my wedding I literally picked up my dress. No room for error right? But there was an error that wasn’t made right. I paid a fortune for alterations that didn’t hold up and when I brought it to her attention she couldn’t care less. I mean she got her money right? So much for customer service and customer...
Read moreI found out about Abby’s Sew Right when I went with my friend 2 years ago to get her wedding dress altered. When I was there, I saw the most beautiful dress that I fell in love with. I took a picture and knew I would go back to Abby’s when I got engaged. 2 years later, it finally happened! I went back to Abby’s and took the picture of the beautiful dress with me. At my appointment I wanted to try on a variety of dresses and thanks to the help of Abby and Emily every dress I wore I loved, but none of them were the one. I showed Abby the picture of the dress I loved 2 years ago and she luckily still had it! I tried it on, and it was the perfect dress for me! I even cried when Emily placed the vail on my head. When you are wearing your dress, you just know! Abby and Emily made my experience so unforgettable with my family and gave me my perfect dress! I would highly recommend Abby and her team for any wedding...
