I cried. I only had a few dollars and was switching items to and from my buggy to be able to make the best purchase possible. Everything was from the clearance buggy next to the produce and so I was able to splurge and was excited to be able to get 2 cartons of ice cream. I noticed a lady that had finished her purchase that she stayed at the bagging area. The cashier and the young boy bagging groceries kept looking at me and smiling. The lady that had been hanging around for so long stepped up to me after my things were scanned and swiped her card saying someone helped her today and something told her to help me in return. I cried, I hugged her and tried to give her half of the $17.50 that I had to my name and she refused. This is a reminder that there are good people left in the world and it doesn't matter what color their skin is or yours because I'm white and she is black.
