NEEDS Service Dog education!!
So, I walked into the store with my vested (something not legally required, but I do it to prevent issues) service dog walking next to me with my friend and her two children. I was at the door waiting for my friend to decide what she wanted for her children and herself. The manager (I presume, no identification was given) came out from the back and informed me that my dog needed to leave the store. I informed her "he is a service dog." Her response was to ask, "who is he servicing?" I stated, "me." She asked me if I was blind. I stated that "I am disabled and he is trained to assist me." She asked me if I had some sort of documentation. I informed her that under the American with Disabilities Act, that was not required. She started to say something as she was walking towards the open end of the counter, but then changed her sentence to "I see he is wearing a vest. Okay then, can you stand by the door?" I stated, "No. I need to be able to read the menu and place my order." She in a short manner said "okay, I am just trying to keep hair out of your food." Me, "I understand."
After our orders were placed, prepared, and paid for, my friend and I started to fill our drinks. The presumed manager (who, while we were ordering our food, said good bye to her employees and said "if there are any problems, call me.") stood by the drink machine with us, hovering over while we tried to fill our drinks. She started to, now, act friendly and was asking me questions about my service dog. "Where do you get these dogs." I informed her that "He is owner trained. I have nearly 20 years experience training dogs, and he is the second one I've trained for myself." I learned she has Husky during this interaction.
My friend was horrified, this was her first access issue she's witnessed with my service dog and myself. I am, sadly, used to this kind of behavior. I question what would have happened had my service dog not been wearing a vest? I question how I would have ordered my food had I been forced to stand by the door? I also do not appreciate being hovered by a store employee (the presumed manager) while I am trying to do business at their establishment. Bluntly...How rude!
I will give humungous props to the employees preparing our food. Through the looks of disbelief as their, presumed manager acted, they were very kind, considerate, and respectful. One even interrupted the rude, presumed manager at one point to comment on how my service dog looked, and was quite intrigued about his breeding (he is a almost all black German...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe young lady that was working tonight at 8pm was VERY RUDE and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! As I walk in the door she didn't not greet me first thing out of her mouth before I'm even 2 steps in the door was "what kind of bread do you want?" Then without even looking at the coupon I tried to ask her about she tells me I can only order from the list of sandwiches listed under the build your own menu. No where on my coupon did it say this. I do not eat any of the sandwiches listed on that list so I try asking her about a pizza sub. She tells me she don't know what I'm talking about so again I try to tell her and she raises her voice at me and ask "do you see it on the menu? We don't make no pizza sub". I tell her that's funny every other subway does. At this point I've had enough and i tell her don't even worry about it I'm going somewhere else and let her know she is very rude and I would be calling her boss. She's saying something not to sure what. Then she says let me take your picture and she takes a picture of me with her phone. Which mad me very uncomfortable did not have my ok to do so..After a very long day of working outside in the heatall I wanted was to grab something to eat and call it a day. I can not stress enough how unprofessional and rude this young lady was. Amazes me how people can be so ugly to other people. For no reason at all! So I hope no one else has had to deal with her poor customer service toniggt and if they did i hope they also say something because something...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI work and live in the Brownville/Baucomville area and visit this Subway location quite often (I signed up for the weekly text deal and they have some great coupons). The staff are very pleasant and attentive to my order. They actually make really good suggestions on flavor combinations and such as that from time to time. They have all been there for the length of time I have been in the area and all seem to really enjoy what they do, the service reflects nothing less. Great place to grab a picnic lunch as well. My kids and I stop by on weekends to grab subs for our outings and the staff always goes the extra mile ( extra napkins, condiments, ECT) to make sure we have all that they offer on our picnic. I enjoy going to this location of Subway and highly recommend it . Whether for a quick bite, carry out, or dine in (the dining room is always clean!) this location really stands out in...
