The menu asks you to be patient, as food is made from scratch. The fine print should define 'made' as 'assembled'. The overall taste of the food was good, not great. But the customer service was non-existent. From being told we would be seated in five minutes, and then it taking 50, from wondering if you were required to get your own refills. The decor is yard sale. From the torn black plastic table cloth to the ripped vinyl chairs we sat in. I have trouble associating fine dining with second hand '80's hodgepodge table and chairs. But please don't read this as me being pretentious. Save that for the other patrons when you get there. All of them toting brown bags of cheap wine and screaming through their teased and frozen hair and thick foundation bases. The show was the best part, watching all these people pretend to be some important southern aristocrat.
Make sure the server who throws your food down without speaking has brought out the right order as well. My son ordered a kids shrimp basket, but the waitress admitted she mistakenly put it in as a full entree. When we saw the error, she told us ever so sweetly, "well, he ate it, so there's nothing I can do."
It would have been much more entertaining if I wasn't there for three hours with a lot more driving to do. Go by, enjoy the overpriced selections, but by all means, listen to the show around you. It is worth the price of...
Read moreWas very excited about this restraunt. By reputation we were poised to have a great meal. The location was a bit of a drive from where we were. Inside is an open floorplan. Looks almost like a back country dive. Prices are going to be steep. We decided to have a date night. Thursday's are fairly busy. So, there was a 20 min wait to get a tucked away corner table. I advise getting a reservation before dropping in. The waitress was kind and the food was made well. Our entres came without sides. The asparagus was a sad 5 short pieces, and they were out of garlic potatoes (told me after getting my steak). So I substituted with fries that I had boxed up to go. Each were delivered after we had finished the main coarse. Id say the experience over all took a B-. We may some day be back, but for now it wont be a priority. ....We decided to go back. I’m adding to this review to say service was again horrible. The food was served cold. Not a place I...
Read moreMy wife and I went out to eat for our 21 year anniversary, with our two children. We chose Anthony's on a coworker recommendation. Overall, I was satisfied. The service was great! It gave you a sense of fine dining but with an atmosphere of casual; well balanced. They have a good can and bottle beer selection and the food was mostly well prepared. The portions were acceptable, and for the quality, it was priced ok, although it's not a place to go if your on a budget. There were a couple of snafus, though. I ordered the fried catfish with a side of mashed potatoes, but got the grits instead. Not a big deal and they fixed it promptly. Also, one of my larger pieces of fish was not fully cooked and came out a little chewy. The rest were fantastic. My wife had the chicken parm and had no complaints. My son got the fried chicken and grits. The baby got chicken tenders. All were satisfied and nobody left hungry. Overall, I would...
