Absolutely the WORST experience I’ve ever had. Not even worth one star. I came here full of excitement, arriving 15 minutes early and waiting patiently outside. I greeted the woman with a smile and a cheerful “Hi!” and told her it was my first time visiting. I also mentioned that I planned to buy a lot of fruit — several boxes — to gift to friends and family, since I had driven hours just to get there. I was genuinely looking forward to this.
But what happened next was unbelievable.
She gave me a quick explanation of the picking rules (only pick fruit from trees marked with paper). I followed the rules, quickly filled a bag, and returned with a simple question: “What should I do if one of the peaches is already damaged or rotten?”
I wasn’t complaining. I wasn’t avoiding payment. I was just asking, politely.
Without warning, she snatched the peaches out of my hands and threw them into the trash, while saying, “You dropped them. It’s your problem.” I tried to explain that one was already damaged when I picked it, and the other one had just fallen — but she didn’t care. A nearby man coldly said, “If you pick it, you pay for it.”
That was the moment everything changed.
Her rude, cold, and aggressive attitude completely crushed all my excitement. I hadn’t even started properly picking — and yet I no longer wanted to buy anything. She made me feel unwelcome, embarrassed, and even ashamed — for doing nothing wrong.
How can you treat customers like this? Especially someone who showed up early, was honest, and planned to make a big purchase?
This woman’s awful attitude completely destroyed my shopping mood. I didn’t even want to look at another fruit after that. I threw the bag in the car and drove away in total disappointment and frustration.
You’re not just selling peaches — you’re selling an experience. And this? This was a disaster.
Terrible attitude. No respect. No care. No hospitality. NEVER...
Read moreThis was our first time ever going to Ray French Orchard. Susie took time to share information about the history of the Orchard, the different fruits that are available at different times, and demonstrate how to pick peaches as it was a first time experience.
We picked thr Elberta peaches. Never before have I found a peach that was this much of a free stone (you can run a knife around the pit and the peach will literally fall apart) and the skin almost peels itself it comes off so easily. This peach is perfect for eating and canning. I've had Elberta peaches from other locations that were not this eat to process.
After this experience I am already planning additional trips this year and next year. Speaking with Susie I learned people come from all over the country to pick fruit at this orchard and I definitely see why. I would highly recommend this orchard if they have the fruit that you are after, and I will be back again.
August 02, 2022 - Definitely one of the hottest days I've gone picking peaches. Was 95 degrees out, but still had an amazing adventure. Picked Sierra Rich, White Lady, Snow Crimson Nectarine, and Donut Peaches. They taste excellent as always as I've come to expect here at Ray French Orchard. It was another great time chatting with Suzie at the stand and Robin the owner. They seem to always have time to speak with new pickers in showing them how to pick ripe fruit and pick properly so not to damage your picked fruit and how to prep for travel if you have a far drive. And like any good business, they are always happy to hear where you're from and how you found them. This family owned orchard and crew running it are very passionate about their business and it shows. Never been a dull moment while traveling to pick fruit here. As I've done in the past I continue to recommend Ray French Orchard to anyone looking for fresh off...
Read moreVisited on Saturday( 8/10/24) for some peaches and nectarines. They are easily the best I've ever eaten, and very reasonably priced. Prices on fruit at a grocery store fluctuate throughout the season, but Ray French orchard is lower than most, sometimes all, of them. You'll definitely want to check their Facebook page before heading over, sometimes the hours vary depending on weather and which fruit is ready. they're good about updating that info, though. As for parking, they have a small designated area, probably no more than 10 car spaces. I recommend getting there as close to opening as possible, not only for parking, but because the fruit seems to go really quickly when they open up an area. I don't think I've forgotten anything here. Overall, good experience, can't think of anything negative about it and I'm grateful that the owners are willing to put up with the madness of dealing with the public. It seems the whole family is out to either check customers out or to perform maintenance, and it's good to know the money goes to people who work for it just as much as...
