Great for first time riders! I went with a group of four other friends, all but one were first time riders. I felt so safe, the horses were so gentle and knew exactly what to do, you barely even needed to do anything! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices were fair. $60 for an hour ride. Not bad for school vacation week! Horses were well taken care of, and they had adorable dogs, (Fletcher and Emma) and goats, donkeys and mini horses for ppl to pet after the ride.
We got there about 10 minutes late, but it ended up being ok, since the lady on the phone said they were running late too. My pony Pumpkin decided to follow another horse, Cowboy on a short roundabout way that none of the other ponies went on. It was narrow so my knee scraped against the tree, but otherwise Pumpkin took care of me
Read moreLoved every minute of this trail ride! Price for an hour is 35, credit card or cash which we thought was well worth the ride and experience. Our small group of 3 was lead by two friendly and funny guides, one of which was Bobby’s granddaughter. There was some construction going on in the distance so they altered the ride for us to give us a more peaceful experience and to keep the horses calm, which we appreciated. We were able to trot a few different times, no cantering as we had a beginner with us. Making the appointment was easy on the phone - you should call ahead!! They do trail rides all year round. There were a number (11 I think they said) of friendly barn cats, two very friendly trail dogs (Emma was so sweet!), and a ton of donkeys, sheep, and horses of course. They had a baby horse Jackson who was also very sweet. The wildlife on the trail was interesting too, a flock of wild turkeys and baby snapping turtles. The people were very friendly, and timely. The trail horses were calm, comfortable, and knew the trail. Callie, Blue, and Foxy were all beautiful! Thanks for everything guys! This is a “little slice of heaven” as one of our guides said. We will...
Read moreIt was okay. For local (to us) trail rides, we've been to Blazing Saddles in the Blue Hills a few times, which we like a lot. For a change of pace, we thought we'd try this place. The ride was kind of dull, through the woods and nothing else really till the end when we went through a neighboring farm with some pretty horses. They make a big deal out of the fact that they let you trot, but it was a total of maybe 60 seconds over three trots. The staff riding along were kind of loud and talkative, which was distracting. The owner (I guess) was pretty rude when we were checking in. He actually spun my credit card out through his little window at me after he ran it, which was off-putting. Maybe he doesn't like credit cards. I usually pay cash at places like this, but since his website and a sticker on the window both said he takes credit cards, I figured I'd pay that way. Apparently not okay with Bobby.
If you're large, you're probably in luck. Despite the info on the website saying you had to be under 250 pounds to ride, they let an absolutely enormous woman ride in our group. They did give her a gigantic horse, so hopefully he was okay.
It's pretty unlikely...
