They need to be clear about the rule with the bracelet. I been going to this place since 2023. Usually my son has game both day Saturday and Sunday so when we paid; we paid for the weekend so they asked if we want both of our bracelet attached to my purse. In this case my husband’s bracelet and my bracelet. My husband was standing up watching the game when he was directly approach by someone who was wearing a STAFF t-shirt asking him to go outside and pay so he can remain in the building. My husband told this person that he paid and his bracelet was attached to his wife’s purse. This person who claimed to be the owner of the building told my husband if he does not pay he will call the police so they can take him out of the building. When I saw the commotion I got up of my seat and went to check what was going on. This person asked me if we payed to be there. I said yes we did. I went back to my seat to bring my purse and showed him both bracelets. This person told me that all he was asking was for the bracelet and could avoid the commotion. But he only asked my husband for the bracelet and myself no one else around. So my advised is if you are Latino they may think you sneak in and did not pay. Make sure you wear your bracelet cause I guess the rule will apply to us only. I asked this person who claimed to be the owner of the building what made he thinks that we did not pay and did not even responded my question. He just walk away. Hopefully no one goes through this situation I felt embarras for my son who was playing looking as his parent and wondering what was going on. My son told us he was stress the whole game and did not want to go to play tomorrow. He wish he does have to go to that...
Read moreMy son participated in a basketball tournament at The Mill Works last weekend, and overall, the experience was disappointing. While a few members of the staff were courteous, the facility left much to be desired. Parking was extremely chaotic, and the gym itself was underwhelming. The courts were notably slippery, causing several players to slide throughout the games, and the refereeing appeared inconsistent and unprofessional at times. One particularly frustrating incident involved the concession stand. After being told it would not be open for a while, our coach asked a parent to bring in a case of water for the team. When she arrived, she was met by someone who identified himself as “the owner,” who proceeded to argue with her in an unprofessional manner, insisting that concessions were open and that players could purchase bottled water instead despite earlier being told otherwise. Ironically, outside beverages like coffee were allowed for spectators without issue, making the enforcement feel inconsistent and arbitrary. Lastly, the venue lacked sufficient seating to accommodate the number of attendees, which added to the overall discomfort of the event. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this facility based on...
Read moreThe facility is decent enough for it's purpose - giving people space to do their favorite activities. The structure itself could use some work, but it's an old building. Lighting doesn't seem that great. But the biggest problems are related to concession and recycling.
It blew me away that they don't have a full concession stand. When there are hundreds of people watching their kids, and you only offer pizza an Gatorade? I'm not business pro, but I'm guessing they are sending thousands of dollars to other businesses. Why they don't sell overpriced chicken nugs and fries is beyond me... and not helpful when you have a starving player who has another game in 45 minutes.
Finally, the recycling. This isn't solely on them. It's a societal problem. But they need to have bins for recycling plastic bottles and cans. The trash cans were overflowing these recyclable items. So, not only are they sending thousands of dollars to local restaurants, they also are throwing out countless nickels... oh and the environment, they're not helping with...
