BEWARE: DON'T do business with the "Italian Cobbler" on Clague Rd in Westlake. Over two weeks ago I dropped of my leather jacket to have 4 patches sewn on. Went to see if it was done today (it was but they won't call you) and find two of the four are in the wrong place, they were swapped. So I told them and the girl at the counter pulled the ticket with the hand written instructions which were exactly what I pointed out. So far so good. They called the "cobbler" out and he starts by saying all patches are taped on in front of the customer and they have pictures. Wrong, they were not taped on with me there. So he produces pics of my jacket with the patches taped sitting on the counter. I said dude, I wasn't there when they were taped or the pictures taken. He taunted me by saying in a highly sarcastic manner "Dude, we always do in front of the customer". Then he called another woman to the counter said its my wife, she says she did and isn't lying. I retort so you're saying the customer who paid in advance, and has written proof of instructions is? He told her to handle it and left the room. She never actually spoke a single word. I was loud and hot at this point. Told her to give me the twenty back for those two patches and I'm out of there. The "cobbler" actually said he doesn't look at the tag, just goes by where they are taped. By rights I should claim they ruined my jacket and demanded $350. At the least I should have asked for the entire $50 I paid. But I'm reasonable and honest, so I walked out with my jacket, $21 and a burning desire to drive them out of business. I'm sure the tape and picture routine is so they might actually get it right. Well it's not working. Remember the old adage, measure twice, cut once? All it would take is reading the tag. And not insulting your customers when there's proof they are right. I guess there's a reason they make everyone pay in advance, probably used to unhappy customers stiffing them. By the way, yes, your wife's lying,...
Read moreWhat an experience! Last week I dropped off a pair of salt stained brown leather shoes that had faced the harsh Cleveland winter baring a few battle scars. After many failed attempts to remove the salt stains myself, the last attempt ended with the finish becoming uneven shades of brown, I decided to seek a professional’s help. Meet The Italian Cobbler. Now, my experience with cobblers hasn’t always been a pleasant one, but this time I was completely blown away. When I picked up my shoes, Glen gave me the big reveal. I handed him my ticket, he returned with a brown paper bag, once opened, he revealed this beautiful pair of brown leather shoes. The salts stains were completely gone and the finish of the shoe was absolutely superb. So I then proceeded to ask Glen a few questions about my shoe, such as, how much ware could I see from the out-sole, then Glen, being the awesome guy he is, gave me the full diagnosis of my shoe. From what products to use on my shoes, how take care of them, getting the best life out of my shoes; I could go on and on. Glen, hands down, is the best cobbler I have ever been to, a true expert. If you ever have a piece of leather that needs some love, go to The Italian Cobbler, you will not be...
Read moreThey are amazing! I had a Warranty Repair Issue with a Zipper Closure on my Victorinox Luggage. Victorinox directed me to them as the only location in Northeast Ohio authorized to do the repair. I reached out by phone to confirm this. Extremely helpful and polite which was encouraging. When I arrived and they examined the Luggage. They would need to have the replacement part shipped. Given that I travel 40 weeks a year and had a trip the following week, I did not leave my case for fear the part would not arrive in time. I crossed my fingers that the zipper would hold out until the part came in and my schedule would allow for the repair. They called me that the parts arrived just a few days later! They were so kind and gracious to allow me to drop off my Luggage with a promise it would be done in time for my next trip. They were true to their word! Perfect Repair and Done When Promised! I Highly Recommend them! They even proactively ordered a set of replacement pieces should I have this issue occur again. That is...
