I love what kroger offers as an entirety. Last week, as I woke up from breathing in this incredibly poor air quality we have from Canadian wildfires, I had a dehydration headache. I pulled a coconut water from my fridge before starting a meeting with a client. I drank the coconut water over half an hour og my meeting and progressively got more and more nauseous. The moment I ended my call, I threw up all the coconut water in my room. Another hour went by and I threw up another two times. The nausea lingered all day and I wasn't able to eat and had to cancel work. While tracing my steps, I checked the date on the coconut water to find it was expired a month and a half before I even purchased it (i purchased on July 22 and you can see from the photo it was expired in esrly june). I submitted a form to kroger's customer service expressing this and this is what I got back: "That doesn’t sound like the fresh & friendly experience that we want our customers to have. I’m sorry about your experience at our Kroger store at 31300 Michigan Ave. All instore bought items that need refunds or replacements are done in store." The store manager later sent me an email to offer a replacement or refund for the inconvenience and gave me times I can come in to ask for her. Am I being ridiculous at the fact that I find being offered a refund/replacement for the "inconvenience" abhorrent when I was this sick? Mind you, this isn't the first time this has happened. I've gotten expired cheesecake from them in the past as well. Why is expired food being sold on...
Read moreAfter I left work, I decided to stop at this location on my way home to get some birthday stuff for my daughter. She is 10 afterall. Got what I needed, and loved that it wasn't busy and love how bright this store is. Most other Kroger stores are darker inside. This is a much nicer store. My cashier was great. Here's my 2 stars... I waited for a few minutes by the floral department wanting to get some balloons. Nobody came, so I walked to the front to see if someone could page for assistance. The person I spoke with at the self checkout was not the sharpest tool in the shed. I asked if he could page for someone, but he just kept saying, I work up here, I don't know anything with the balloons. He was not listening at all. Finally, another cashier paged, and I went back to wait.... and I waited. I saw many employees walk by, but nobody came to help and nobody asked if I needed assistance. After 5+ minutes, I checked out with what I had. It's my only child's 10th birthday, and I just wanted her to have a couple balloons to celebrate. She can't really have a party anyway. So, a perfect star for the cashier, and a star for how bright the store is. But nothing else. I guess I'm supposed to go out of my way to a different store, or shop somewhere else altogether. 😡 And with not many shoppers in the store, I was appalled at the sight of absolutely no shopping carts in the store at the entrance. Good thing I only wanted a...
Read moreI can't believe the audacity of Kroger! I thought they were a reputable corporation with consistent rules across all their stores. But no, I was wrong. The u-scan attendant had the nerve to tell me to use a different lane just because I had a big order. When I questioned this sudden change, I was led to speak with Lisa, who I'm convinced is not only the store manager but also a terrible liar. She fed me some nonsense about creating a better experience by segregating big orders. What a load of garbage! None of the other 47 Krogers I've been to have such a ridiculous policy. I asked if this was official Kroger policy, and she had the nerve to say no. It's clear to me now that this manager is instructing her employees to profile customers as potential thieves. How absurd! If she's so good at spotting thieves, why isn't she out there solving retail theft and making millions instead of managing a Kroger? Are Kroger stores just mini dictatorships where managers can make up rules based on their own biases? This is a dangerous path that could lead Kroger straight into a lawsuit. Maybe Lisa needs a lesson on not jumping to conclusions about customers. And those lies she told me? Pathetic. She couldn't even own up to them when caught. I was watched like a hawk the entire time I was there, and guess what? I didn't steal a single thing....
