The state has made recent improvements to parking areas and accessibility for Lake Willoughby's south beach so people don't have to park along the road. There is a small pull-in area where you can unload kayaks and paddle boards then go park. There is a ramp to roll your kayak into the water if you have a kayak cart. The beach itself is very small; not much room to hang out for the day (go to the North Beach if you want that). The water is shallow for a long way out and the view is incredible. Read moreThis place is literally amazing. The water is crystal clear and it really feels like you’re in a different country, like somewhere in Europe. I can’t even describe the vibes of this place. My boyfriend and I kayaked while we were here and it was super peaceful and there were quite a few loons to watch out on the water. I’m super sad it was chilly and cloudy the day that we went, because I would have loved to swim here. Also there are porta potties here for anyone who is worried about facilities. Read moreWilloughby Lake has a public beach that stretches 0.4 kilometres (0.25 mi) on the north shore of the lake, or in the zone of the lake outlet. Another public beach is located at the bottom of the South Bay of the Lake. The village of Westmore is located on the east side, at the confluence area of Mill Creek which drains the waters of Long Pond. Many cottages and houses are located on North-East bank of the lake.
