The owner of the store is one of the most kindest people you will ever meet she does absolutely phenomenal readings as well. The Oddity store has something for everyone whether it's spooky ,spiritual, fun or scary, herbs , books ,Ouija boards or clothing. You will find the most unique gifts or items for yourself & friends too ! Jewelry, greeting cards, games & the most odd and unusual creations. Beautiful pieces of Art that are just a little bit different than you would find any place else. Odd , spooky , beautiful peices ,sculptures too. When you walk into Appalachian Oddities you will feel warm and welcomed they have lots of things for you to do throughout the year . Art of the odd with Tabitha every other Wednesday. They do host HallowSpring a big wonderful event that they put on in Weston and much fun for everyone. You can dress up participate shop have food listen to music, shows , contests lots of vendors ... there's so much to do during the hollowspring event . Appalachian Oddities also have 'odd encounters' at the end of every month. A place to come together with the like-minded to talk about anything from Cryptid ,UFOs ghosts , myths & legends there's a different topic each month and then they have usually an outing once a year that they do or a quarterly. This last December they did a Masquerade Ball. A time to dress up & figure out the mystery . Spooky elegance at its finest. I'm hoping they hold another this year ! The owner and staff at Appalachian Oddity are v kind , very friendly have wonderful Hearts. Open-minded & open hearts Appalachian Oddities do not judge and you are always welcome to stop in look around & chat . They also have Celestial Saturdays you can talk , get a reading, you can sit and read you can explore the store or have a chat with the owner too , henna tattoo, light refreshments are served sometimes too. They also partner with talented & wonderful people & host classes on anything from dream interpretation to astrology & so much more . Appalachian Oddities is not just a shopping experience . We took a mini ghost hunting and cryptids vacation stopping in several infamous cities with tons of cool places to shop and buy our kinda weird stuff. But none were nearly as amazing as Appalachian Oddities! If you’re in Weston to visit Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, this store is a MUST visit for you! All kinds of fascinating creepy stuff, from dolls, to medical tools, to ghost hunting equipment. The owners Katie and Dawn are amazing down to earth people who are experts in their field. Katie offered me a trial of some of the paranormal equipment they had for sale before buying, and it sold me. This is a delightful cute store, but I want to talk specifically about the escape room. As someone who does dozens of escape rooms a year- I found this one great. Unlike many out-of-a-box rooms, this one had all original clues and puzzles that were handmade, an appropriate level of challenge, and all on theme. The clue system was also unique in that there were clues throughout the room which could be opened for a time penalty, which were handcrafted letters that felt more immersive than the typical speaker system.
