I was so excited to visit here. We got there about 430 on October 18th. The ice cream place was closed next store so we went right to the main store after stopping at the for sale shed out back. We have a 4 year old and at the same time we arrived a large bus of senior citizens arrived. My son was not acting out I am not afraid to say if he was but we ran into two incredibly rude customers. They seemed extremely bothered that there was a child here. The first was a man about 70 years old and was bothered that my son was looking at the cork guns while he tried to walk down the isle and made a comment under his breath. Then about ten minutes later a large woman almost barreled my son over and was rather rude and said get out of the way as she went rushing by to leave. I understand customers canโt be controlled but they feeing we got was that this is not a place for children. After that we went in the clothing section and began to smell what we thought was manure. No big Deal my brother raises cows but the smell got worse. Like a lot worse. Then my thoughts were it must be chicken manure which smells worse then cow manure but again my brother fertilizes with it not a big deal I figured there was a farm near by and again thought it was out of there control. I pay for my items. $110 for a raccoon hat, a tiny terrarium, maple butter a few candys and a sling shot. Very expensive in my opinion but my choice. While this is all going on the line is getting long because they shut down a register and were directing people too the clothing register. Unfortunately thatโs where the horrible smell was coming from. When we finally left, the door we entered through is now closed and locked so we are forced back through the stink to the door near the clothing register. Thatโs when we realized what was going on. We walked out the door and there in front of us was a septic sewer truck and another septic company van. Now Iโm not a rocket scientist but the smell was raw sewage. I donโt no if the septic tank overflowed or a line ruptured but it was fowl.
In summary this place was the least family friendly place we visited itโs expensive and it smelled like...
ย ย ย Read morePoor customer service turned an enjoyable day into a miserable experience for me at the Weston store on August 14. I was waiting in line to pay for my items. There was one customer ahead of me. There was a small area to the left of the customer in front of me, far enough away that it was obvious that my items were not mingled with her items. I set my items on this area so that I could get my credit card out and be ready to check out, then moved back behind the customer. Iโve had a stroke and my right hand is clumsy, so it takes me some time to get my credit card out of my wallet, and I like to be prepared and not delay the cashier. I also was in a great deal of pain. The cashier asked the customer if we were together. The customer was confused, not knowing that I was even standing behind her and said โyes.โ I immediately responded that we were not together. The cashier then very curtly told me to stand off to the side. The customer said โno thatโs OK.โ I responded โno, I will do as I am told.โ I picked up my items, reassembled my wallet, and moved to the side of the customer. I felt like a small child having done something bad when all I was doing was resting my items so that I could help the cashier out by getting my credit card ready. I was not standing so closely that I was violating any social distancing protocols. I immediately left the store. I had planned to have an ice cream and a sandwich on the way out but I told my husband I wasnโt going to spend another penny at your store. Itโs people like this that turn a good experience into a...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is a store that both men and women will enjoy. It is actually multiple buildings enclosing the entire store where you can wander from one end to the other completely inside. It has nearly everything you can imagine from old time candy and gadgets to upscale clothing items. It's location can seem like it is in the middle of nowhere, and although it is somewhat remote, you can reach out in about 90 minutes or so from the Massachusetts boarder. Their prices are high, no question, but there is so much of it that would be hard to find these days. That said, there is a lot on the shelves which make me wonder why not increase sales substantially by lowering the prices by 25%? Making a bit less on larger sales volume is better that holding your price on a $19.95 item that has been on the shelf month to month, when lowering it to $15 will move the merchandise. Anyway, it is a nice store and worth the drive to please your significant other. There is plenty of parking and it's handicapped accessible.
