As a small business vendor attending a local event at the Alario center, we as the vendor are prohibited from bringing any type of outside food or drink into the facility, thus being forced to buy severely over priced bottled water, coffee and food. They are charging $5 for a bottle of Dasani water, $5 for a sprite, which equates to well over 100% markup, $9 for a very small bowl of jambalaya, and the list goes on. This is a complete rip off not only to the vendors that paid to be here but also to the patrons that paid to come to the event. The Alario center should be ashamed that they are robbing everyone. Kind of inconvenient for a cheer competition. The food line was outrageous. And your athletes cannot bring in their own water which I think is a little outrageous. Read moreOf the 50+ Volleyball tournaments that I've been too in the last three years. This is the only venue does not allow the athletes to bring water in any form. Athletes also can't have snacks or fruits. Long lines to get in and searches to protect the concession sales. They were making athletes pour out water bottles and throw away any unopened bottled water before entering. I'd of liked to get some concessions but I can't support this type of behavior.
