I had never heard of a Yurt before. Very neat experience. Didn’t go on the beach, too strong of winds the 2 nights we stayed there. We stayed 5/20 and 5/21/23. It is an absolute best way to camping. The FamCamp there is a beautiful place to stay.

Beautiful views and awesome display of aircraft taking off and landing! The sun sets right on the water here too with easy access; highly recommended if you are in the area! Downside is that there isn’t a whole lot of grocery/supplies on base.

When I went there, there was a checkpoint checking IDs for those who are eligible on duty. I parked outside and there was two beautiful aircrafts below. I highly recommend going there if you want to see aircrafts with your own eyes

NAS Whidbey is a wonderful fixture in the area and the nearby city of Oak Harbor, along with all of Whidbey Island and neighboring Anacortes, benefits greatly from her presence. Along with the direct economic benefits, Oak Harbor enjoys the strong sense of community that is the hallmark of being a 'Navy town'.

The periodic airshows that have been taking place in the skies around NASWI for over 70 years offer area residents an opportunity to support the people who make their freedom possible, and the community gains a strong sense of pride knowing it is 'doing its part' as it has for generations. The EF-18s are quieter than the older Prowlers that have been flying here for 50 years, so even the handful of grumbly complainers have something to be...

Part of me will always remain at NAS Whidbey island. This base was huge to a young, backwards kid from a poor Texas town of 375 residents. I saw the world and this base was my doorway. 10 years later, I married my Washington born wife on Roserio Head, with NAS Whidbey Island as the background. (Beautiful day, Beautiful Girl) I thank each and every person at this base (Civilian & Military, Past and Present) for their hard work and dedication to keep this place beautiful and vibrant. If you are lucky enough to be stationed here, do me a favor. Go on over to the Prowler Memorial and say a few words for the names of the men and women there. Tell Mr. Dee & Mr. Francis I said "Howdy", and they have never...

I tried to register my VA disability card at BLDG 2853 and was told no. I was there 5 minutes prior to them closing so they refused to do the job they get paid for. Not only that, but the civilian employees were extremely rude. The military folks at the gate were helpful. They gave me a phone number to their staff desk SGT so I could file a complaint. If you are open until 1530, then you are open. I have never heard of a job where you can just decide you are done working because you close...
