DG Market — Local services in Whitesburg

The other negative reviews are not exaggerations. I rarely leave negative reviews, but hoping corporate takes notice. I don’t know why people go to a job if they give the impression they hate their job, and take it out on the people for products in the store that pays their salaries. Asking for help in this store is met with cold looks from employees, and a sense as though you’re bothering them. Asking a simple question like “hey, do you guys carry this item?” is met with the response “if I had it, then it would have been out here”, like, is it my fault you hate your life that you have to take it out on me? There is serious mismanagement in this store, and the attitude that is felt is since this is a rural town, then whoever manages this store feels it’s ok to foster a climate of “well they’re gonna have to come in here and buy from us anyways, we’re the only store for miles, so we don’t owe them actual customer service, they owe us their business..” is the mentality that’s felt. They barely even look you in the eye. I love the store, but the people running it are really anti social weirdos who have no business working in any retail customer...

It doesn't have as wide a selection as other Dollar General stores located nearby, but it's closer to home and much more convenient. However, oftentimes, many of its usual products we use are out of stock time and time again. It's very frustrating. Out-of-stock items do happen occasionally, and that's to be expected, but some things haven't been in stock for three months or longer. I realize that this may have been due in part to the pandemic, but with food being an essential item, both food delivery and retail sales have all continued to operate throughout the pandemic, so most food should be being delivered regularly and there should not be any continuous shortages of any regularly purchased foods by now. Yet still there are the same empty shelves week after week, month after month. I'm becoming quite exasperated about the missing products and am considering...

I just wanted to thank the girl that works at the Dollar General in Whitesburg , not sure of her name young girl long straight blondish brown hair after I realized i didn't have my debit card with me i tried to stay under the amount of cash i had but went over like 5 dollars, when i told her to take a couple items back off so i wasn't over she simply and kindly said no. Reached in her pocket and paid the difference and when i told her i would come pay her back she once again said no, its people like this that give me hope that their just might be a few good hearted people in this little town.
