We came in excited for a competitive night at Battle House. The setup looked awesome, staff was friendly, and the first round was a blast. But by round two, things got⦠weird.
The objective was placed literally right by the other teamās spawn. We didnāt stand a chance. They were holding it for like 500 seconds straight while we were getting tagged before we could even reach it. A few of us asked if this was a mistake, and the ref kinda just shrugged.
Also, we were told before that each team would get a fair shot at each side, but that never happened. It felt more like chaos than competition.
We ended up beating the other team in all aspects, but they wanted to make it fair so handicapped us multiple times.
The final outcome was tied, but instead of a tiebreaker match or something tactical, they had us do rock-paper-scissors⦠seriously. For a team-based tactical game, that felt really silly and anticlimactic.
We had fun overall, but left confused and kinda disappointed. Weāve been multiple times, normally we just buy the place out - but if they treat public games like this, just Wierd. It didnāt feel super balanced or like the rules were clear. Not trying to bash anyone ā just wish it had been better explained or more consistent. Definitely not what we expected from something advertised as tactical combat.
Edit - their response...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I've been to this place a few times. Honestly my first time there it was fun but wished for more with the environment, game play and more. We started talking to this one guy there that we saw often about our thoughts. Well come to find out he's the owner. First off I think any business is great when the owner themselves are interacting daily with their employees and customers. He even jumps in and plays once in a while. Well due to his great business ethics of surrounding himself with his customers he is able to hear and respond to their thoughts.
As a result we have seen MANY changes to this place making it a more fun and exciting place to go. Plus rumor is "leagues" are going to be starting as well which should be exciting!
And my thoughts to everyone else who complains about weapon upgrade pricing....you spend twice as much for soda, popcorn and candy when you go to a movie. I personally would rather spend the money on something that provides more excitement and fun vs a lame bowl of popcorn! Just my food for thought.
Two last things:
follow them on Facebook!!!! You can always find great deals going on such as discounts and free giveaways!
on the counter they have punch cards! I believe it's every 5 games you get one free? This is great. It's like saving $7 off...
This ain't your grandaddy's laser tag.
Pros: -Lots of options for weapons. Each does their own thing. (Reload time, damage per hit and etc) -Huge arena, tons of hiding spots. -Multiple games to be played, not just a free for all. The game is constantly changed up and different from the next. -Refreshments. They have beer, water, sodas, coffee and a small assortment of candies for your enjoyment. -The real hero of this place is it's staff. The employees here genuinely enjoy their job and working with people. They are friendly and you can tell that they love laser tag as well. The customer service here is fantastic and the staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a blast.
Cons: It is pricey. You pay for a 1.5 hour block and it's 36 dollars, 26 on fridays if you're a first responder. Upgrades are 10 bucks each. Adds up quick. -Game play is very hot, wear light clothes because you WILL sweat.
All in all this place is worth every penny and I look forward to round two with my family and friends. If this place had a food truck come out they would make a killing that much more. Once more, a shout out to an awesome staff who easily are the selling point for an already fun game. Thanks for being...
