I run a non profit that trains underserved AA male youth in the field of technology so that they may have a chance at making living wages and get off the streets. These guys could quite possibly get jobs paying 28/30 dollars an hour at entry level... depending on their clients/consulting firms.
I’ve called these people several times to either have laptops donated to my school or to even rent or buy laptops. They’ve all but shunned me but certainly ignored me. I’ve explained the mission of my non profit even. Not one person even called me to let me know that they have no available laptops, tablets or computers. They simply snubbed my numerous emails, messages (via the receptionist) and phone calls. I just found out that they even have a course offering that our youth demographic may have an interest in; they didn’t even call back to tell us that. I can see if we were in competition with each other... but we are not competing... we are supposed to be on the same exact mission... helping the community.. their training is the first of its kind and so is ours... why ignore each other??? Their snubbing of us speaks literal volumes! We are teaching two totally different IT career paths. Our school teaches Software Engineering. There’s no need for competition. We teach software R and D; as well as how to create the documentation/artifacts that go along with it. We are clueless as to any thing that even involves computer repair, becoming a computer technician or related matters. However, that doesn’t mean that our students would not be interested. Upon hearing of our efforts, numerous times, you’d think that they’d at least call and say... hey we can’t help with what you wanted but we DO however have this course offering for free for your underserved demographic. Their ignoring and snubbing speak volumes.
We’ve been reaching out to them since July. Here now we see that in August they announce computer technician training. Our youth may have loved to participate; especially the ones who are not interested in software R and D. Typically the ones with no interest in R and D excel at becoming techs. It’s just sad that rather than coming together to help our communities, we’d ignore each other when our goals are purportedly the same. My organization is not in competition with any organization that is helping the community. Not only that, since established in July, we’ve partnered with community organizations (who contacted us) as far as Rehoboth; offering basic computer literacy skills via Zoom to ones who are not even our targeted demographic. We aren’t in competition. We are in coalition to help ones in our community who need it AND to provide any assistance or support to the community resources who are helping our ones in need. NerdIT Now has spoken volumes to us (in their ignoring of us...
Read moreVery upset to have to write this negative review. I brought my phone in just before closing on a Saturday evening. Kindly, they stayed open to fix it. When I got my phone back it looked good, but upon using the screen was not functioning properly. Since it was a Saturday night the store was now closed until Monday. I was under the impression that there was a six month warranty with no stipulations. On Sunday the brand new screen cracked due to squeezing it trying to figure out if the screen needed to be pressed on better. My screen was not shattered or cracked when I brought it in originally. It was only showing half a screen. So in one business day the new screen I just paid $60 for is now not functioning and shattered. I was told to bring it in and it would be taken care of, but when I got there I was told it couldn't be fixed due to personal damage. I am truly hurt by this business transaction. I was told that my phone could be fixed but at a cost to me. Myself thinking another 60 dollars. I was in disbelief. No mention of making amends or lets work something out. I understand the part can't be returned so you would be out money on a part, but the fact is I was given a broken part and paid for it and then between the time you closed Saturday and opened Monday the screen cracked, when I had my phone for years prior with no cracked screen, clearly the part is cheap. If you would have asked me to pay for the new part, 10-20$ (at the most) I would have been better off, but simply saying at a cost, makes me believe I am going to have to pay for the same service all over again. I was given no help. And I'm really bothered by this whole thing. Its...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I work night shift so majority of the time I’m having to sleep during the day. With that being said, my friend took the initiative to call for me to help me out. When she spoke to them and explained what I wanted done, they said they could absolutely accomplish it, gave her a starting price point and said they’ll be able to give a definitive after looking over it. They informed her it would take up to 48 hours. After dropping everything off on 9/8 I had to call them to get any information. After four days (with no communication from them, me having to call), I finally got the price of what it would cost to get what I wanted done. I gave them the okay on the price and the go ahead. A couple more days pass and I don’t hear anything from them again. I decided to call and they explain they only have one PC “expert”. This person seems to barely ever be at work. They said it was started on so it could be that day or it could be the next day that it’s finished. After a week passes, I decided to make a physical trip up there to see what’s going on. My PC was sitting in the exact spot it was put a week ago, never being touched at all. I was lied to. They told me they agreed it had been up here for a long time so they were going to mark it as urgent, but there was still one ahead of me. On day nine when still nothing was accomplished (except moved to a different spot) I decided to retrieve it and take my PC elsewhere. This shop was nothing more than a glorified storage facility for me and I will never take my business...
