I’ve been taking classes at Fighteria for about 2 and a half years now and I recommend this gym to everyone! All of the coaches feel like family at this point, it’s an extremely welcoming environment that also provides the intensity I need for my fitness goals. Joao’s kickboxing classes are awesome and have helped me develop as a fighter in ways that I didn’t know were possible! He is very, encouraging and helps me break out of my mental blockages when I’m struggling with a technique or even with the emotions that come up in this sport. I also love taking the Strength and conditioning classes with coach Jacob, he’s friendly and funny and brings such a positive energy to the gym while providing top notch workouts that are structured to help people reach their personal goals. I’ve seen so many people start taking his classes and within a few weeks they look stronger and more motivated to increase their goals to new levels. Then there is Miss Rosie who works at the front desk and coaches the women’s jui-jitsu classes on Fridays, she is so amazing!! I feel so comfortable in her classes and have become good friends with her because of how all-around fantastic she is! All of the coaches at this gym are so unique in the way that they teach and motivate their students but the main thing that they have in common is their genuine desire to see people succeed and feel welcomed in the space. “One team one family” is their motto and it really does hold true with not only the coaches, but the students that show up every day that will inevitably become your friends if you choose to be a part...
Read moreIve only been to this gym once, I dropped in for a day because I was visiting wimberley and did not want to miss out on training. The sparring was high level and controlled , everyone was very respectful. However, the real reason I am writing this review is because at the end of the class there was an exercise where everyone gets in a circle and holds each others arms and does squats at the same time. In the circle there was pro fighters, people who train for fun (like myself) and also complete beginners. Something that stuck with me forever was that a small girl who was clearly a beginner was tired to the point where she couldn’t do them anymore ( I honestly couldn’t either) was being cheered on by the rest of the group and since we were all holding each others arms her weight was being carried by the group. It’s been 10 months since I visited this gym and have been to multiple other gyms ever since due to me having to travel for work and I still think about it all the time. I love the culture that the coaches in this gym cultivate and how they made me feel like part of a family even though I was only there for one day. To this day I still tell all my friends this is the best gym I ever went to mainly because of the vibe of inclusivity and acceptance of people from all walks of life. Sometimes people get turned off the sport because of how intimidating it can be to step into a room full of fighters while being a complete beginner and a lot of gyms forget we were all there at one point, not this gym. I will...
Read moreWARNING! WARNING! WARNING! If you plan to signup your child for FIGHTERIA classes, especially one who is younger and not sure if this is their sport, than KNOW THIS! If they decide they don’t like the program then you have to FIRST give them ONE month notice THEN they also require you to pay TWO MORE months of membership so that’s a total of $360 dollars!!! I understand an adult being able to make that commitment, but for a 7 year old? Just way too extreme. So yes... as you can figure... I am out $360 dollars. They will let you (your child) continue to practice during that time! But if you have a stubborn child like my middle one... it’s not worth dragging them in the car and forcing them to go when it’s not something they enjoy. There is a waiver you sign at the beginning. It says this in there is small print. I’m more likely to read reviews and that’s why I put this in here so you REALLY know what you are signing up for! So when you sign up know you are not only paying for the first month and possibly the outfit you purchase from them... roughly $250 but you are also committing to pay another $360 at that time!! HUGE commitment for a little after school activity in my opinion🤷‍♀️ I did one final attempt before writing this review to see if I could let my nephew use our last two months that had to be paid for anyways. They said no. And sadly he might have actually liked it and continued to go, but he will never know now!
Don't say I...
