I wanted to rewrite my review - I’ve been here for 3 months now and I just have to say if you get a chance to become a member at this gym - do it.
I’m a travel Physical Therapist who was looking for a gym near where I was staying. I found Pursuit by chance and just treated it as just another gym that I would be able to just exercise at. I’m from Los Angeles where a majority of the chain gyms are ego lifters or “influencers” who constantly film themselves. I met Israel who helps with memberships and when I met him in person I saw a huge buff guy and already thought in my head “ok here we go” and thinking this guy was going to oversell me on things. Boy I was wrong. One of the friendliest guys I’ve ever met, he listens to your needs, makes great recommendations as far as memberships and also takes you on tours that are tailored to what you are looking for, and leaves the rest up to you. He’s not pushy, super friendly, and just a plain nice guy.
Then I met Zac the owner. The guy does not act like an owner, he’s extremely friendly, always said hi, always took the time to check in when he sees a new face and makes sure you’re having a great time, but also makes sure that the machines are to your liking. I saw the guy every morning and he always took the time to say hello and share a laugh.
Then I found out that there is physical therapy there. I worked with Kathryn. I’m always skeptical with PTs because you can’t imagine how many therapists do the cookie cutter treatments but Kathryn is a game changer. Back home I was dealing with tons of shoulder pain and felt like I could not push myself further. Katie’s treatment not only felt like my shoulders got a second chance at life but taught me things that helped me lift like I used to lift back in my varsity basketball days. Micah is the other PT and I see him every morning working with clients, and as a PT you always pay attention to other PTs not only to see what they’re doing, but you get different ideas to add into your workout, and let me tell you the guy knows what he’s doing. Both Micah and Katie are fantastic PTs and if you have a chance to work with them, I promise you you’ll be able to see crazy improvements in your lifting/biomechanics
Then the trainers - Santiago, Antonio, Rosemary, John, Anna, Stine, Dan (I promise you I’m not just name dropping, there are more trainers but these are the people I saw every morning). All of them very friendly, all of them kind, and bring the energy to an early morning workout, not only for their clients but for the gym as a whole. And I’ve seen them workout, they know what the hell they’re doing (shoutout to rosemary hitting 400 on her squat). What I respect about them as well is that they SHOW UP. There are ton of events at Pursuit like their bootcamps and their cycle and sips at New Belgium Brewery, THEY ALL SHOW UP. And they have a huge smile on their face and make it a lot of fun.
Finally the last thing I want to say is that I felt like I was in a community that I belonged to. It wasn’t just a random gym. My wife and I truly looked forward to working out because we knew that there were always friendly faces and we would always leave with a smile even if we had to crawl to our car. We are really going to miss this gym and hope to be back, this is one of the (if not the only I’ve ever experienced) rare gyms that truly wants to build a great community. Best 3 months I’ve had.
TL:DR - Sign up for this gym, you won’t regret it. Just know whoever is reading this that I’m...
Read moreAfter years of what seemed random health problems and recent chronic pain in my feet, forcing me to take 2months off from the gym, I had finally had enough. I sought out for help from Mallory Family Wellness and their holistic team of doctors. After a decade of constant pain and no answers was finally diagnosed with Lupus, celiac's and hashimotos disease. All auto immune disorders. The average person should never have more than 30 thyroid anti-bodies in their blood. My doctor said in all of her 16 years she has never seen a person with more than I have. My labs showed an astounding 334 antibodies to my thyroid alone, proving my autoimmune disorder was attacking my body and destroying my thyroid. As crippling as this news may be my doctor was incredibly impressed how I was able to get pregnant twice and give birth to two perfect children. My thyroid is working at 5%, I essentially have no metabolism and handful of health problems yet I look to be the fittest client she has seen all day. I walk around at 16% body-fat and the only components that are keeping me from looking like someone who has thyroid failure is 100% pursuits nutrition, guidance, support and workouts. If I didn't eat as consistently, and balanced as I do mixed with Proper exercise I would be morbidly obese. Thank you to Samson and his killer team at the best nutrition and training facility in the world for forcing my body to create a metabolism despite all the odds. Without their guidance and coaching I would have never sought out the right doctors and been given my diagnosis. I have a long path ahead of me but at least I know what I'm fighting against and have the tools, medicine and support to get better. My story is a testimony to how amazing pursuits system of nutrition coaching with proper...
Read moreShocking to see so many wonderful reviews on this gym. Great facility that’s way too big for its britches.
Where do I start?
When you sign up here, you’ll feel like you’re buying a used car (assuming you can get in touch with them — their phones don’t work). You’ll pay 2x what you should be paying. They charge for a true luxury experience but they aren’t one. That sweet recovery room? Limited hours and you need to reserve your spot. Need to take a pee after you sit in the hot tub? Too bad, no restrooms. Used to that fancy Lifetime locker room with towel service, locking lockers, hair dryers, mouth wash, etc? Nope, not here! You get one poop stall and two urinals. No locker room here. Bring your own lock. That swim suit you brought for the recovery room? No water extractor like every other luxury gym would have. That massive sweet facility? Better not come after your 9-5 or you’ll never get to use it — it’s always occupied by teenage athletic programs. Want to use the cafe? Better come after your 9-5 if you want to use it. Total gym access or cafe access — pick one. Their new child care program? Costs more than your gym membership. In the 20+ years I’ve been working out I’ve never encountered a gym so obscenely priced and I’ve been to gyms that are better equipped and offering a true luxury experience.
I want to be clear though — This review would be five starts if their pricing reflected their value — at LEAST 35% cheaper than current pricing (roughly $400 a month for total access + child care for one person). It IS the best gym in Windsor. Top notch equipment. Their pricing is simply absurd — and they plan to...
