Arrived at 7:15pm in Saturday 8/9/25... Pleasantly greeted and promptly seated in a cozy both with a South facing view of I25 and undeveloped open land. Due to the layout we are quite comfortable and almost feel as if we're the only ones here even though there is a fairly packed house. We were immediately served ice could crystal clear waters all around along with chips and tasty in house made salsa. The chips were light, crispy and freshly made in house as well. Our server Luis was very friendly and absolutely professional from the get go. We ordered cherry colas and I had a Michelada with non-alcoholic Corona... It was amazing. At 7:31pm our Chicken Fajitas, large Relleno and chimichanga combo and chicken tenders w/fries arrived at our table piping hot... Right after receiving our second bowls of chips and salsa which were refilled promptly without us having to ask. The food was delicious and every staff member was so courteous and friendly... So polite and respectful... Sad to say it was actually surprising just because it has become so rare in today's society. The entire place including the bathrooms is very well kept and CLEAN. My food was amazing and my daughter liked her chicken tenders... Fries were good... Similar to McDonald's in cut and fry. The only thing we noticed that they could improve upon is adding a bit more meat to the fajitas. I was pleasantly surprised by my first experience here... I'm very glad we chose this place... They are probably my new go to Mexican Restaurant in the NOCO area... Food is delicious and the people are even better! Thank you everybody at Pueblo Viejo!!!

Good food BUT NOT the shrimp. The food and service is good except for the shrimp. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp. There are two problems; the shrimp is not deveined and the tails are left on. The vein is the digestive tract of the shrimp and almost all restaurants devein their shrimp. It grosses me to eat shrimp like this. You can see the gunk that comes out of the vein in the piece of shrimp on the left in my picture. Second is that the tails are left on. Not uncommon but when the shrimp is served really hot it is hard to get the tails off. You kind of burn your hands. The fajitas are really good and my wife has enjoyed other dishes as well. And the house margaritas are good too. We have been getting some really tart margaritas at other restaurants so this is a nice change. I do recommend this restaurant except for the shrimp of course.

Such friendly staff and filling and yummy food. My wife and I have typically shared the fajitas for two, which is wonderful and delicious. But on one of my most recent visits, I branched out and tried the Pollo Relleno and it did not disappoint. It was a very large meal and I cleaned my plate because it was so delicious. I highly recommend it. Also, they provide free chips and salsa and bean dip and they never let that go empty. Overall, a wonderful experience for date night out, or family outing or just a solo lunch/dinner option. I love this restaurant and love the staff. We have become pretty regular attendees lately and love the familiar friendly faces.

What happened to this place? It used to be good. Unfortunately, the last several times we have been there it has been disappointing, but last night was the final straw. We were seated on the side by the windows and absolutely froze. We were given chips immediately, then were ignored for 10 minutes. After flagging someone down to take our order, we sat for another 20 minutes without drinks or food. After asking about our food, someone brought it out. It was cold and mediocre at best. We couldn't find anyone to box our leftovers, so I went to the server's station myself and found a box to box up what was worth taking home, then sat another 10 minutes waiting for the check. Since we had tickets to an event at the Budweiser Event Center, I decided to go to the reception desk and try to pay so we wouldn't be late for the show. Had to wait again, just to find someone to track down our waiter and find our check. Even worse, no one seemed to care that we had a bad experience. Such a shame. It is such a good location and festive decor', but don't waste your time or...

This is my first time visiting this restaurant. I'm a Texan, so I am probably a bit more particular about the quality of Mexican food I receive than others in the area. I said as much to the older gentleman at the counter when I picked up our food. He may have been a manager, but I'm not sure. The temperature of the food was excellent, and both the chicken and beef enchiladas were great, but everything else was well below par. The first bite of my chili relleno dropped them to 1 star because it contained 2 inches of the stalk/vine. There is no excuse for throwing in pieces that should have been cut off and discarded. The tamale, which I expected to be made from corn, contained hardly any ingredients at all. The chimichanga was very small and also lacking in ingredients. The size of the accompaniments was also of very small proportions. Whether you are looking for good Mexican food, or a fair price, you will want to avoid this place. I'll definitely not...
